This was my worry with a Carpenter and why I scratched it from the list. My scape is made specifically for fish to dart around and hide, but 3ft for a zoomy fish gave me too much doubt.
I’m soon to be going against almost all of what I say with flashers in a 3 foot reef… The LFS I volunteer at is soon to have a lid (The same lid I had on my 4 foot) on their Red Sea 250 display and there’s a rubricaudalis female just sat there.

I love the nock on driftwood I started fresh water so I’m familiar with wood

But yes some pinkies sounds like a plan but which other smaller wrasse should be on the list other than leopards
They can be active during feeding but a Pseudojuloides species may work if you can find them. As long as they’re in a tank made for wrasses and only a few other fish I find they’re alright.
Here’s my current one everyone loves, the Severnsi Pencil.

I’m hoping my Kaleidos comes out to play soon as he is a stunner and I only got a few photos when he was out on Sunday.

Setting up my QT tank for a severnsi now and will be on the lookout for a small female! Along with a lubbocki, an isoceles and/or brunneus, and/or an exquisitus. I have the new smaller hole screen lid, so no more fairy wrasses jumping through holes!

That’s ironic haha! I just mentioned about how that same torch caused a minor disagreement in my 5’ build thread.

Got a new guy today! Buried in the sand already so no pic, just over 1" long. Halichoeres garnoti!

Both the wrasse and the oceanic tang came small. They had a note that the wrasses always ship little, but I was expecting a 3-4" tang since I ordered a medium. He's barely 1" as well. Some of the astraea snails that came in the same shipment are bigger than him...

My Garnoti was my fastest growing fish in my tank. Gorgeous looking wrasses.

Hope it does! I'm debating eventually putting it into the 240 with big boys, but for now it's going to move to the 100 gallon once done with quarantine. At only $18, couldn't resist lol. Also grabbed a trio of yellow headed jawfish for the seahorse tank, at $19 each, and a bunch of snails and hermits SUPER cheap. And free priority overnight shipping and free nerite snails. So overall really happy.

My Garnoti ended up being a jumper after a couple of months. Likely chased by the Melanurus.

Solid lids on all my tanks now. Between all the wrasses and the tilefish, the gobies, firefish, and jawfish, I'm not taking any chances.

Think this is the best thing I’ve seen today… a post about a “Juvenile Male Rhomboidalis”.

Does that mean this guy is a Juvenile Super Male Diamond Tail?
