Qt doesn’t need to be hard or complicated. If using copper use copper power. I let the wrasse most of the time settle and eat for a few weeks before copper. That is a good time to treat any infections or for flukes as those meds are safer to use. I recommend watching around the 3 week mark when in copper. Of a wrasse has a problem it’s at 3 week or so.

Do you have a preference of HTTM vs copper? I have the set up to go either way.

Your call. Httm leaves a lot of risk and also is stressful morning wrasse all the time and cleaning or having enough tanks. For me it’s easier to use copper and other meds. I do hate meds and understand doing HTTM but can’t rely on it as much as using meds.
Both can work just want you prefer. Chloroquine phosphate is great way to go as it treats multiple things but o haven’t used it yet as bacteria consumes it and we can’t test for it. It’s a bit of guess how much your tank consumes and then dosing daily.

Chloroquine is what I'm looking into. I want QT to be a natural sand-filled environment, so that's the only way, I think, as the copper is going to get bound up quickly and will be tough to maintain levels. That said, CP is a bit like flying blind.....

I prefer cupramine personally. I haven't found it any more stressful than most other meds, have used it with sensitive fish including leopard wrasses without issue (just ramped it up over 4 days or so until it's in therapeutic range), and use it in a tank with a silica sand (i.e. pool filter sand) substrate that is inert and does not absorb meds. That way I can medicate without worrying about diseases or my dosage changing, and can provide the substrate sand sleeping fish need to do well.

It’s is a bit blind. There is formulas out there.
Copper easy with sand. It balances out quick for me. Sand definitely can work against us in treatment. I keep it shallow and even use it now with non sand sleepers

I actually use real rock. After the first couple days I can usually get it to balance out fine. Never really had much copper loss with cupramine and rock. I test daily and will raise it if necessary, but it usually is not. I can go 2 full weeks between doses and have it test exactly the same level.

In other news, everyone finally moved over to the 60"x18"x22" (LxWxH) 100 gallon tonight. Of course all the wrasses immediately went into hiding. Hopefully everyone is out in the morning. Still have them in hypo since I hadn't raised the salinity in the quarantine yet. Once I get it back up, I'll move the inverts over and add the macro to the fuge.

In bad news I lost my broomtail today. Apparently I somehow got velvet into my 240 gallon. Only thing I can think was I fed frozen after coming home late and tired from work and must have cross-contaminated from one of the quarantines. So far everyone else has spots, but are still eating and active. Raised cupramine in the FOWLR to 0.5mg/L immediately as I don't want to lose any other fish and I can't keep any inverts in there anyways.

Call them. Measure the SG when the fish arrives. Have aged water at 1.026 and ro so you can adjust your QT to the shipping SG. That way you can temp acclimate and then drop right in.

When was sold to me, the LFS has sent a video. I took a snapshot from it.

I think I've found it. It's the bluehead fairy wrasse, Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura. In its initial phase.

question. looks like the pink streak wrasse was reclassified and is OK to mix with other wrasses?
wrasses in question are flashers, fairies and Halichoeres.

always loved the 6 line but I know they're are NO go. thought this little guy could be a nice mix into the wrasse dom. system ( 80 gal.)

Well, still no sign of the ornate leopard wrasse since moving it to the 100 gallon, but everyone else is out and about!

Also snapped a pic of the slipperydick wrasse and the Hardwick's wrasse in the 240 gallon.

Excited to introduce my new lil wrasse. He came home to me two weeks ago.

He is a Rosy Scale (Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis) and is quite small but very colorful already. I acclimated in box for a few days and he has been living peacefully with his neighbors quite nicely.

He eats everything on the menu and has already noticeable weight on him. (the pics attached are from first day).

The photos do not show his incredible colors but still pretty good.
