@i cant think , I would like your input about a trio of pink streaked wrasse in a Waterbox peninsula 25.

The dimensions are 23.6"×19.7"×17.7" / 60cm x 50cm x 45cm.
Available water volume is 23.7 gallons/90 litres, not counting the water that the sand and rock take away.

Do you think that a trio would work in this tank size?

a single pink streak would work…
they’re fairly cryptic.

but a trio would be too much for only 20ish gallons

@i cant think @Slocke thank you for this list. What about quarantining them. I have a 10 gallon bare bottom with rock. Is that an issue for wrasse?
If it’s a sand sleeper something like this will help. Make sure you use something like Copper Power if you do use copper as wrasse can be sensitive.

I’d go for a trio in no less than 3’ of length personally. A pair should be fine in that tank though :)

@i cant think in regards to that list my assumption is one from each grouping. But has anyone had any luck with a harem? I am good if not I like some of those choices.
I’d ditch the harem idea. You’ll likely end up with several males who then fight to the death. Pairs can work with Anampses and some Macropharyngodon may work in harems but it’s having to know the signs of transitioning. Pairs of Halichoeres may also work but again it’s knowing those signs of transitioning. So overall, I’d stick to one of each species and get a feel for how wrasses react with eachother before thinking of pairs and such.

Nice Earl’s! Good looking fish!

Is that a rainbow basslet? Does it get along with others? Any aggression issues? I have been considering getting one for a few weeks now.

If someone were to say “banana wrasse”? Which wrasse would you assume that person is referring to?

Because while the “yellow coris wrasse” name annoys me. If some people are referring to H chrysus as a banana wrasse they may get a bad surprise when they get a Thalassoma lutescens instead.

(Unless of course they shop at Dr Reef. At Dr Reef you just get whatever fish kind of looks like what you ordered no matter if you called it a banana or not.)

Also yellow coris wrasse aren’t coris wrasse. Green coris wrasse aren’t coris wrasse. And red coris wrasse are orange…

Oh and the Formosa coris wrasse is not found anywhere near Formosa.

Lemon wrasse? Small, sour, yellow, pucker lips.

Well, Halichoeres bivittatas is slippery, and can be *allegedly* a dikc, so kudos to whoever got that right.
