Ah yes, I love the family Hogfishes especially when they have many parasites!

I mean, it’s of the genus Bodianus which is in a subfamily (although I don’t know if this is in-date still).
Yeah I was trying to find that but couldn’t find much though Wikipedia was no help of course.
Not sure if it's a wrasse. I would think it's as much of a wrasse of a harlequin tuskfish, but I'm no wrasse expert, though I do know they sure do get big! Good luck with him!
Thanks! And honestly that make a a ton of sense. Tusks and hogfish are different from other wrasse.

Lyretail hogfish. Should I?

Najer's build thread on the Humble.fish site has one. It is one of his more recent additions. I can tell you it has been working as a cleaner fish for parasites. He has been having issues with it getting down his overflow numerous times.

Cool! Thanks. And luckily this one is probably too big to get into my overflow.

So you mean it's big enough to block your overflow and cause a flood!
I mean it’s not small enough to get through the slots :face-with-tears-of-joy: If anything is going to block my overflow it will be GSP.

Garnoti has come out of the sand!

That’s great news!

She’s beautiful too, I love the juveniles. They have such a bright stripe down them. Here’s one I nearly bought a few months back.

So is it a wrasse?
IMG_7950.jpeg
Well, it is part of the labridae family, which is what I would consider wrasses, and seeing how people consider wrasses to be as far up the ladder as labriformes I'd say this is a wrasse.

now the question is, how much of a bully is this guy...

Well it’s a tank full of bullies. It’s really a test to see if my theory of equal aggression equals peace. So far so good.

She came back out for a little bit so I fed the tank some brine shrimp and Mysids. I squirted some into the corner she was hiding in and it looked like she grabbed a few pieces before heading back to the sand. I was so excited to see her though! Two weeks on Saturday and I hadn't seen even a glimpse. I had given up.

good... my mum can't care less about my fish fighting to the death to the degree that I am now currently considering this. However, I also want eels(and as such that is a bust).

Eels are the second fish I nerd out on. You just have to get the right eels:

I'm still waiting on the(at least) annual G. richardsoni from my lfs, but I might buckle for a zebra. Still unsure on richardsoni's predatory habits though.

To be entirely honest, sharks got me into the reef hobby, but an 80 gal is simply insufficient. Eels are but a substitute.
