    Candycane Femininus Wrasse Supermale WYSIWYG

    Regular price$8,999.99
    Sold out

  • So Are these Wrasse really worth their Price? Never seen one beside pictures. Would you own one if price wasn't any issue to some. I know my budget I could never even consider one. What are the challenges with these wrasse in the home Aquarium, if any.

Seems like a bad idea to spend that much on a short-lived fish that could end up bullied and dead in a month. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ guess if you're policy is spare no expense.

omg a madagascar flasher... how much was he going for
I’m not too sure as I don’t show much interest at all in this species :)
But I would probably estimate Atleast 1K if not 2K as it was an imported fish.

Very few people have long term experiences with this species… they are extremely sensitive and tend to just wither away after a few weeks to a month.

They are not worth the price straight and simple lol :). I’m sure you‘ve seen their $30000 tangs?

Too bad it’s reef pro. Prices way inflated to cover all the fish they kill.
Wouldn’t take a free fish from them!

Nothing is worth the price at reef pro. 6 grand for a Hemi that they cut in half when they start killing them should tell you they rip people off. The Hemi cost them a few hundred. Just saying

They lost $3 grand in fish in a couple months. Took of work for delivery and never an email saying. It was all infections. Tried to teach them why but they didn’t listen. Told them I’ll teach them how to sex their Viviens too when I come and teach them about meds. They sent 2 sick fish dead by end of day. Then the free replacement was dead before they shipped. Fish was eaten away from infection

Where. Hmm. Hard to say I only deal with direct imports, tsm, my local lfs I’m friends with will get what I want for me. I ordered DT from reef exclusive and it’s a winner. Second fish from him ships today. He is new and been awesome to deal with so far. I look for anyone who doesn’t just flip fish.
I did get a redtail from wwc. It went ok nothing fancy but don’t like they don’t keep the fish. Fish was the worst I’ve seen in a bag if you don’t count reefpro. That said I can’t say it was anything they did wrong.
My import guy is great and gives two week alive guarantee on fish. He likes to stay small and only deal with wrasse collectors. If you want I can pm more about him if you send me a message.

I’ve always been curious about places like that store that have fish that are not on the “high end” of the price range for a specific fish, but completely on another planet.

It always makes me wonder if they are actually selling these fish, and if they are, who are the people paying these prices? Is the sleek website and extreme prices meant to convey a sense of “exclusivity” or “premium quality” to lure in people who are willing to throw bags of money around and not think to much about it? Or is it one of those things where they have those listed just to see if anyone would actually pay that (and if so, “lol we got one, boys”) but actually sell fish at more “normal” prices locally?

Sorry for the rant. Just seeing some of those prices leaves me perplexed.

Thanks! Got nothing I want at the moment though.

It’s rare my LFS isn’t the best way but they don’t do expensive sensitive wrasse because it’s not worth the risk.

What’s worst is they have a DOA only so getting a tamarin or pencil is so risky.

My lfs won’t bring in some wrasse but he also keeps fish in therapeutic copper. If I want something he orders and I get it in shippers bag when it comes in. I like it that way and then I save alot of money. Talk to your lfs and see if they will order then you pick up when shipment comes in. Shipper should cover doa and you take the loss of in your hands. For that to work he needs to order and import or use a wholesaler that has healthy fish as they aren’t equal. I only use quality marine wholesaler and won’t with viviens, Hemi and fish like that as after 36 hour flight a wholesaler isn’t a place for fish to settle before shipping to us

Well here they are! I can't claim the maori is all that pretty yet but it should grow into one. The Cirrhilabrus rubeus (I believe rather then rubriventralis?) is probably my favorite fairy that I've been looking for for months. It is being harassed by the exquisite so won't be allowed to leave acclimation for a while (you can see the exquisite in the last shot flashing the box).
