More than once. They are painful. Most definitely defensive bite.@sfin52 ever been bitten by a spider? Andrew got bitten on the back of his thigh. I'm betting a black widow. Clear fang marks. He probably sat on her considering where the bite is. The doctor called in a very strong antibiotic. The cellulitis isn't as bad this morning. The site is about 3"x5".
He asked if he killed her or maybe even babies. Lol. He was upset about that.More than once. They are painful. Most definitely defensive bite.
*Fun fact
black widow bites have drasticly drastically decreased since indoor plumbing became popular. Men have benefited the most.
Oooh another nerd!Good night everyone!
Tomorrow I finally get to do REAL lab work.
Synthesizing gold nano particles!!
Woohooo! Nerd science!
all by myself. So let’s pray I don’t go boom.
Tremex columba@sfin52 A friend found this floating in his pool in Massachusetts. He was wanting to know if it was a murder hornet because he said it is huge. Me, I don't know. You are our resident bug guy so I thought I would ask you.
Nice. Hope he is feeling better. I am highly allergic to spider bites. That is what your average house spider does to me. Black widow probably would have killed me.Vast improvement
Thanks. I knew you would know.Tremex columba
Horntail. They are big but not mourdous hornet.
No problem. I thought the same thing when I saw my first horntail. They are massiveThanks. I knew you would know.
I would love to hang out in the lab with you. I am part geek, on my mother’s sideUpdate-- haven't gone boom yet.
But accidentally miss calculated one of my solutions... back to square one at 4 pm
But really, I have to sit and wait for my gold seeds to form for 2 hours next, then do one more addition of gold to make them into starts, sit another hour, then do three 40 min rounds of centrifuging....
this is gonna be a long night :'(
@Why-Me isnt that like the blackest of blacks???
Havent worked with it, have no use in my research. Have you heard of Aqua Regia? Was working with that this morning. Scary stuff.
@Katrina71 no I am not that cool, working on drinking water taste and odor compounds
I would love to hang out in the lab with you. I am part geek, on my mother’s side
I hear that. I work in a television studio and there are huge restrictions on everything. I really miss giving friends and relatives private tours and such. Of course, no one is coming to visit anyway because of the virus. Feel like we are all going to go insane next summer (if we make it that far without losing our minds that is).I wish company was allowed right now. Then I wouldn't have missed that mistake. That's what I get for following the label's directions instead of my calculations.
Right now we are still in phase II on campus which means no more than 2 persons in 500sq ft of lab space. If less than 500sqft only one person is allowed.
We knew what you meant. Like Jimmy Buffett says in the song, “Changes in Lattitudes, Changes in Attitudes” - “If we we weren’t all crazy we would go insane.”Did I really just say we are going to go insane if we do not lose our minds? Too late! ;Woot
