Probably not many. And having to get up from your seat to go to the television to "click" through the channels. While color TVs were available when I was a kid, they were very expensive, hardly anyone had them, and only a few shows actually broadcast in color. Not many people actually had color TVs until around 1965, if I remember correctly. I was about 9 before I actually saw a color TV broadcast. While Disney had "The Wonderful World of Color" TV show in the 50s, the very first color show I can remember seeing was "Johnny Quest." It had to be the first prime time animated series and it was broadcast in color.
Everyone waited for Sunday nights to see who was going to be on the Ed Sullivan Show. He premiered all of the big acts back then, from Elvis to the Beatles. I saw the Beatles first TV appearance and it was amazing.
+1 on thatI take pics for fun, not any good at contests.
Any memories attached to that bar and stools? If so, I vote for makeover. If bad memories, send them up to @fishguy242. I bet he can come up with a use for the WOOD bar & chairsNothing. I just stepped away from the keyboard and worked on getting my patio back into shape. Just got a start because I really hadn’t touched it all winter. So this is about as far as I got. It is cleaner, but still have endless projects out there. Know it isn’t fancy, but it is me. . The bench in the picture was built by a good friend who has since passed away. So it is kinda special to me. I sat there until almost 9:00 having a few adult beverages. Its been a while. The old bar and stools are getting a major makeover - or possibly a trip to the street.
There went very many channels to click through, unless you had the antenna on the roof. We had rabbit ears with aluminum foil
I LOVED WATCHING JOHNNY QUEST!
The bar was a gift from an old girlfriend. Memories? Maybe a few. I think I will try the makeover. It was just a cheap bar and I really never thought it would hold up on the patio, but it has been out there for 20 years. No damage, except to the finish - and a couple of barstool legs that were chewed on by our dogs. Ha.Any memories attached to that bar and stools? If so, I vote for makeover. Mine was Speed RacerBattle!!! Of!!! The Planets!!!!!
Early anime was my jam.
That was even before Fox. Only the three major networks. Funny that we all got along just fine with the three channels. Remember there was always one "clear" channel and the other two that were in different towns were full of "snow."There went very many channels to click through, unless you had the antenna on the roof.
