When my parent's A/C went out and it was the fuse the electrician basically said the fuse is bad, replace it first and if the problem persists we can troubleshoot at that time. Apparently they can't trace what's tripping the fuse if it's bad. Basically sounds like the same story you're being given so maybe it's true? Not sure how you can trace a fault on a new fuse that tripped but not the old fuse that tripped though. Sounds more like, fix the easy and go from there.A/C fan motor and main board are out, 4-5 business days shipping from Tuesday, so soonest repair is tomorrow. I'm angry the tech that was out last friday didn't find the fault then. he said the electrical was good, guess not, or is the board technical, not electrical. how fine is the line? under $1k to fix, so doable and this is what emergency funds are for.
