Man... I haven't even gotten drawn yet and you guys are all planning my elk... :grinning-squinting-face:
I'm still awaiting some dividends from my cousin who went on an elk hunt last fall and got one on the last day of the hunt.

That is essentially my current process, though I have a jerky slicer so I typically pre-cut and re-freeze the meat in bulk until I am ready to make a batch of jerky. Marinate for about 24 hours, start the dehydrator in the morning, taste the finished jerky that evening.

I have plans (possibly soon) to make a combination cold/hot smoker/dehydrator that should greatly improve the quality of the jerky due to actual smoke rather than smoke powder added into the marinade. I've cold-smoked bacon several times in the past few years in a converted old refrigerator, but don't trust the plastic interior at hot-smoke/dehydration temperatures.
I wouldn't trust it either. you have a serious operation there!

That's what we're here for.

Jury duty today. report at 830. 905 get word that the defendant is opting to forgo the jury. No longer needed. Not a bad time, not sure why people try to avoid this.
did you get the free bag lunch first?

Many years ago, I was a little insulted when my husband got me this as a present. "Like seriously, our love has moved to kitchen appliance purchases". Now, I consider it one of my favorite things he has gotten me LOL.
I bought my wife a Roomba vacuum and now she thinks it is better than diamonds!

I asked for Jury Duty the other day. They said I had to wait 18 months.

What??? We always got dismissed for lunch on our own... Downtown restaurants are pricey.
There's a downtown Peoria, AZ?
Ohhh, don't get all up at arms. I'm just teasing. I'm semi-familiar with Peoria and know there's about 175,000 people that live there. As a matter of fact, I know a couple of the upper brass on the PD through my brother. He's with Phoenix PD but who knows for how much longer. He's been in law enforcement for 38 years and can retire today if he so chose.

This was downtown Towson. County court. I'm a little bummed I got out so early because all the stores I wanted to hit don't open till 10. Guess I'll go back out.

Not sure when or how I get the $15 the promised either.
I read the above as, "Not sure when or how I get the $15 the promised ether." I thought, "Oh, he's going to have some fun tonight." Then I thought, "$15 in ether isn't much maybe he should get more."

I should get more I sat there for 30 whole minutes! They haven't accounted for inflation in a while I guess.

Peoria is my closest city! ...Peoria, IL that is.

Wow, those are great deals! I've been looking into getting cherry shrimp and plan to do so soon once I get my 40B double-stack systems reconfigured.

I've had Endler's for a year and a half now in a 20g tank I started as a "pond" for toad tadpoles. The original 7 Endler's were free from the guy I bought tanks from in summer of 2021. They are the true "wild type" with a little less color and not as long of fins, though the males still pretty closely match the one in that picture. I like the relative plainness of the females.
They've bred up to and maintained a population of about 45-50 in this tank with essentially no maintenance other than feeding!

I want to get back to breading cherries. they pay so well at my lfs.

Endlers too, but that's a lot more work to keep up with.
What makes Endler's more work? I have a pond tank 20g that I have run maintenance-free (other than obvious feeding as well as removing a handful of green hair algae every few months) with a thriving community of Endler's. I don't try to sell some, though, so maybe that process is where I am missing the work?
