sorry about the aptasia... one of my worst reef fears
These days more so than days of old, given all of the sterile system setups. I'm used to it as an issue that is easily managed. You know, providing you actually do manage it. Lol

Well, that pretty much catches us up to where we are today. Whew! One heck of a ride thus far, eh? Like I said previously, nowhere to go from here but up! In the coming days, I'm going to begin work on the controller cabinet, and will be posting lots of progress pics along the way. I also plan on writing an article on how to DIY your own. The canopy will also be removed from the system and new lighting will be suspended above. Again, pics and updates along the way. Additionally, Stay tuned for unboxing and review videos (and pics) of the new Dalua products that I ordered, too! In the meantime, here is an update video of where we are today to help you visualize all of the stuff I was discussing earlier.

For note: Yes, I am aware of the drips coming from the BRS reactors. I had just removed the return tubing from them right before I filmed this video and they were residual. There have been a multitude of issues along the way, but I assure you, my tank is not leaking. lol

I thank you for all of the support and encouragement that you've shown up to now, and I hope that you'll continue to join me as we move this thing forward, together.

Namaste.

...and here is the finished product. It is by no means perfect, but I did it with my own two hands, and my chest swells with pride every time I poop in there. Or, maybe it's indigestion. One can never know for sure.

My reaction is not a HAHA at your work... its the "my chest swells with pride every time I poop in there. Or, maybe it's indigestion. One can never know for sure."

That was a great video walkthrough. I'm really enjoying your build thread and the storytelling style of your writing.

Just caught up for the day, dang! Nice to finally see underneath that machine. I ran the video sound-off to allow the wife to relax after I dragged her 6 hours across the arctic wilderness today so I'll just assume plenty of appropriate sarcasm was added :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

Can't wait to see the lighting upgrade! I'm running XR15 LEDs now, but we used to run an 8 bulb T5 on the last tank, after 1.5 years the tank looked like it was 20. I can't complain about the output of these XR15 bad boys but I think I'm leaning back to T5/halides for the next (bigger) build..

So I just rebuilt my scape also, had the opportunity after recently moving and dragging (wife wouldnt help lift) the tank along. Pre-move, did a "wall of rock" also, almost like I was so excited for another tank after 10 years (and I owned the actual new tank for 2 years prior to setting it up) I just piled everything in there and went "Sweeeettt!!". Looked at it for a while (8 months), found myself looking at other scapes on here like "oh thats nice" (lol), and put a little more effort into round 2. Very similar end result, 2 peaks, one lower, swimming space in the middle, more caves. Ahhhhhh, victory. Rolled up a, newspaper..? ..and patted myself on the back.. Anywho, approved! :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Keep up the good work

"Newspaper". Lololol
I was looking at the XR15's and considering three of them, buy think I'm gonna pull the trigger on three (3) of the noopsyche K7 Pros. and give 'em a try. If I'm not happy, I'll spend the cash on the XR15s. I'll likely do an unboxing and review of them here.

For note: no sarcasm in the video. Still getting comfortable putting myself out there, so-to-speak. I'm sure as I get better at it, my sense of humor will come through more.

Hey, all. Just a quick disclaimer. I make a metric $#it ton of typos and grammatical errors when posting here. I have bad eyes, fat fingers, and a form of dyslexia called dysgraphia, so I don't always catch them at first. My apologies. I do try to go back and correct them, so be patient and bear with me. Thanks for understanding.

"Newspaper". Lololol

:D

Cant go wrong with any of those lights either! The XR15s are running pretty well for me, I only run them at 35% force too.. Only issues have been occasionally they drop from Mobius, and occasionally one of them will light up in a more green-only type spectrum, requiring a reset. About once every 4 months for me so far.. No first hand experience with other lighting than the 8-bulb T5s back in the day, other than reading reviews on here.

Uh oh. Known for what? My hippie ways? Baby blues? Oh, wait. It's the fact that I don't wear deodorant, isn't it? dang, my reputation (and stink) precedes me...

I think I saw you on Frank's thread and saw DC. But now that you mention it, there has been an odor...just thought I needed a new mask though.

@Mschmidt - I saw further up this page, our new friend, @Fish Styx , posted a video so I thought I'd take a peek. I swear, not more than 5 seconds into the video I notice the handle on the upper door of his control cabinet is TOTALLY crooked. My god, I nearly had a panic attack. Needless to say, I looked away quickly and could not keep watching. I may be able to return to the video later after a conversation with my therapist. However, I just might have to bail on this thread if there are more occurrences like this one.

To add insult to injury, @Mschmidt , this Fish Styx fella claims to have OCD. He even says so in the post linked below. I mean, how can a guy claim to be OCD and have a TOTALLY crooked door handle right out in the open like that? This is definitely strike #2!
