Yeah, I'm definitely not shipping another. I'm waiting to speak with the vendor. I still have family in NYC and will be heading up there in January, at some point. I may stop in his shop, in person, and bring one back with me.

As for ordering local, fat chance. There really aren't a lot of decent LFS in the DC metro anymore. There's only one I would trust for fish, and they don't deal with Kenya / Mauritius exporters.

In other news, these arrived today. Once again, special shoutout to @Zach B for the amazing customer service and fast turn around time! I'll hopefully get these added to the lighting rig over the weekend, and then I'll start running the numbers.

I can't say enough good things about these lights!

I think your idea of driving them down is the ticket. Temp control, plenty of sand in the bag, make sure the bag isn't taut with air (like diving into a trampoline vs pavement). And maybe they'll have one in a tank and already eating!
