Hello Reefers!

It's been around four months since we last updated you all on the progress of our show tank. So this will be a LONG OVERDUE 3-part update for this massive build thread!

In our last update, we showed you the process of aquascaping the show tank with Marco rocks and adding the natural seawater. As you can see, we have a lot to update you on!

We gave special consideration to the filtration room and sump design and you have all yet to see it.

So, let's begin this update with the filtration room built alongside the aquarium!

Inside of the filtration room you will find:

The custom-built sump (7ft) which is conjoined with the additional sump(14ft) which runs along the underside of the aquarium built by Reef Aquaria Design

Deltec 7i Black Edition protein skimmer with Abyzz A200 pump

Deltec VF6000 Fleece Filter

Deltec CRTT10000 Calcium Reactor

Deltec CRTT10000 Calcium Reactor + CO2 Tank with the Tunze CO2 Regulator

Aqua Ultraviolet SL200 UV Sterilizer

CW-300 Algae Scrubber

AquaLogic Split System 1.5HP Chiller

EZ-DSR (Dutch Synthetic Reefing) additives to replace the need for water changes.

Trident-Marine Aquarium Water Analyzer by Neptune Systems

5 x EcoTech Vectra L2 Return Pumps

5 x Sea Swirl Wavemakers +
8 x EcoTech MP60 Magnetic Powerheads

And as for lighting...We equipped the show tank with 12 x EcoTech G4 XR30 Pro LED lights and 8 x EcoTech G5 XR30 Pro LED lights.

This is exactly what I am trying to do in my basement wall between 2 walls with 1 room my fish room the other observation room not trying to be too noisy but would love to know what u have in to it cost wise even if it needs to be a private message this is exactly how I've been planning to go about my massive upgrade just not that far along with it and not lot of tank builders in northdakota.

Let’s talk CORAL!

Once the 2300gal system was completely cycled and all water parameters were in check, we became eager to add life and color to the tank!

The first corals we added to the tank were larger aquaculture colony pieces from ORA Aquaculture facility, and a few
select frags from A&M Aquatics

Upon building the show tank, we incorporated that barrier specifically to separate an area for finer sand. For wrasses to sleep or hide if they please. Placed slightly hidden away out of reach of too much flow to avoid it being picked up too much. As you can see, for the rest of the tank we chose to use a thicker gravel like type sand.

LETS TALK FISH. Eager to add more life and color to our tank, we went shopping for our first fish additions!
The first additions we welcomed into the tank were:
A school of Dispar Anthias (Pseudanthias dispar)
A handful of Yellow Tangs captive bred from Biota Aquariums (Zebrasoma flavescens)
A pair of Designer Clownfish (Amphiprion Percula)
1 Carpenter Wrasse (Paracheilinus carpenter)
4 Zebra Barred Dartfish (Ptereleotris zebra)
1 Sixline wrasse (Pseudocheilinus hexataenia)
2 Purple Pseudochromis (Pseudochromis porphyreus)
1 Solorensis Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus solorensis)
2 Tomini Tangs (Ctenochaetus tominiensis)
1 Redfin Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubripinnis)
1 Blue Sided Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus cyanopleura)
