Haha
If you want humidity you should come visit where me and Ethan live. The southeast US is famous it for. We’re known for ice-tea and watermelon since cold sugar water is the only way to survive.

Lucky you have cold sugar water, we just have barbecues, warm pools and even hotter houses because nobody thinks it’s smart to have aircon in houses over here.

True air-conditioning is a must and everyone has it.

Heres my favorite summary of British stereotypes:

Your right! Sometimes it’s not even hot it’s just terribly humid and it makes the air feel hot, then you feel all sticky and miserable

I was hoping you were going to say Reefapalooza, oh well next year ;)
This is why I wish I was in the US… First off;
You guys get some gorgeous wrasses for great prices but also RAP looks like so much fun talking to other hobbyists and seeing some rarities.

We may in quotation get some more variety of fish, but the common fish we know and love are much more expensive over here unlike the UK. So pluses and minuses. You should fly to the US next time I’m sure you’d enjoy it!

Id love to go to the US at some point!
Common fish we love over here aren’t that cheap but compared to the $120 for a naoko Fairy, they’re certainly cheaper at around $50.

I was about to say. Some of us get good prices.....

I think you get in the US is a much greater variety. For example the super expensive LFS by me always has completely different fish to the cheap one and almost every store I visit is like that. I think we just get far more distributers because the country is so big and that means the fish and corals you can get between stores is far more variable.

Definitely! We have one distributor (We used to have 2 - One in London and one in Man Hester but the Manchester one shut due to cost of living) which really makes it hard to get fish and corals we want as each LFS has to get there before the other. Also, how have you found the Military Time compared to 12 hour clocks?

I’ve always used military. It’s the better system. Just wish everyone would switch to metric! Can you imagine how much easier it would be? Like dimensions to volume. For example if your tank is 100cm x 50cm x 50cm you can so easily convert it to liters. 10 x 5 x 5 = 250L

I’m shocked how many LFS’s are in England. So many more! Just visited ReefKeepers in Rugby and wow. So many great fish! Never seen so many wasp fish! Prices were great. Better than most stores in the US. Also so many Red Sea fish. Wish I could have gotten a Red Sea pearlscale rather than mine. Much prettier.

Remember over there it’s in Euros not Dollars :winking-face-with-tongue:
You mean pounds :face-with-tears-of-joy: and pounds are pretty weak. 1.24$ to 1£ (it was almost 2 to 1 when I first remember coming over). Many fish for less than 30£. There was a juvenile regal for 180£. A blue line angel for275£.

£180 is around the price I got my regal at, and blue lines are generally £250-300 depending on size. Many of our prices are surprisingly reasonable, I mean for a choats I have to pay around £244 (It’s being paid for in Store Credit when I finally get my hands on one) which is around $302.

It’s strange as the Red Sea/Africa is where we most commonly get fish from. Every few weeks an Indonesian import arrives and every month or so we get an Aussie import.
I mean, recently (within the last few weeks or so) 10+ Madagascan Flasher Wrasses surfaced. Plus a Dr Seuss Fish! And of course several other rarities being sold around the UK for around £3400.
