I would love to afford to start over but I need to save for my wife’s cancer meds. The state axed out health insurance in June and it’s been outta pocket or bill me. Prob over a million in debt now since January when we found out. She can’t work either because the melanoma spread to her hip bone and spine. She can hardly walk and is always in lots of pain! The crappy thing is I need this tank more than ever and she’s gone

It is always sad to hear. Sorry about the troubles. On another forum there are several who have had to evacuate due to being in the path of Milton. Who knows what they will come home to. Batteries only last so long and then factor in structural damage, water damage, not present to flip on generators, etc.

Ok maybe not “my life” but my tank was my life and my way of dealing with my wife’s cancer and all the BS that comes with it. RIP reef tank! You gave me 15 years of relief of stress and made so many people happy over the years and even hooked a few people alone the way.
After loosing power and water for 11 days I could not fight the battle anymore. My beautiful tank turned into 70 gallons of acid water after all the deaths. I had things I could never replace. Even had a coral from Jake Adams that was my pride and joy, boy I miss him!! I have never had to shut a tank down because of a crash. I can hardly look at these pictures anymore. So goodbye R2R you were great! I don’t think I have the heart to do this again and I definitely don’t have the money too. So dang sad yall. I have no more tears or words!

Really sorry to hear about your tank, @Waynerock …but more sorry to hear about your wife. I hope things get better soon. Just out of curiosity…and no need to divulge if you don’t want to…but what happened with your health insurance? If you were somehow dropped, you should be eligible to get coverage in the Health Marketplace even if it’s not during the enrollment period. You can also appeal the cancelation.

Thanks for that! I have doubled down on growing medicine for my wife now. I use my time to grow other types of life these just benefit more than just the viewer if you catch my drift. It’s the best way we have found to help her appetite, pain, and mental state. It’s almost like these plants were put on this planet for us by a higher power and is absurd for people to make it against the law to have them. And it’s a heck of a lot better for her than the poison. They are trying to prescribe to her.
