Temp probe fluctuations

Is it normal to have temperature probe fluctuations?

I'm using a hydros system & the probe is about 5 months old.

As you can see from the chart, I keep getting alerts that the temp is out of range but when I go to the tank it's fine.

I'm trying to determine if something else is causing this. Right around the time of today's alert the power cut out. It only lasted a second but the router rebooted. We've had a couple of these recently & I'm wondering if that's causing the probe to register a quick drop in temp.

I'm worried this will turn into a Boy Who Cried Wolf situation. I'll learn to ignore the temp alerts and then one day my heaters will stop working.

I would double check with CoralVue for their opinion.
Also have a thermometer in the tank to look at.

Just an update I want to share in case this happens to someone else.

My probe has always been tucked down into the overflow. Somehow while messing with stuff under the tank I pulled on the cord so that the probe was sitting much higher in the overflow.

Can you tell where this is going?

Then whenever the return pump was off, the probe was getting exposed to air, which led to a rapid change to the ambient temp.

Silly me. Lesson learned - sometimes you need to stop and follow the path of something while thinking about it logically.
