need a little clarity on how the inkbird works and it's ultimate purpose. i currently have two eheim heaters connected to one inkbird 306t (non wifi version)

i have the inkbird set at 79 and the heater at 78

my understanding is, is that when the inkbird temp probe senses a temp above 79 it will shut off the two heaters. is that correct?
my thinking is that it's ultimate purpose it to be a failsafe only if the heaters overheat the tank due

does it also turn on the heater if it gets below a certain temp?

It works as a controller, to turn the heat on and off when temp is within whatever delta you set. Like if your Td was 1, and set point 78, it would turn on at 77, and off at 79. Usually you want to set the inkbird at your desired temp and let it controll the heater and use the heater's thermostat as a failsafe, like set it at 80.

does inkbird default to a delta of 1?

when the inkbird is "on" does the orange work 1 light turn on? i have both heaters plugged in so not sure if work 2 light should also be on?

No, work 1 controls both outlets, not sure what work 2 even does. looks like they don't know either...
I bet it is a feature implemented in other models but not used in this one.

Thanks. trying to get this right. my desired temp is 78. I put the inkbird at 78 and heater at 80

what should the ds1 value and calibration value be at?

I'm guessing ds1 should be at 1?
