What's your GPH through the sump now?
Well, I redid my return line to 1.25" after adding a jebao dcp13000 which is rated around 3600gph.

I ran 2ft of clear hose and joined it with PVC which runs another 2ft using only 45s. If I had to guess it's around 2600gph? Maybe more, maybe a little less. The pump is only at 76% as anymore and my bean animal gets overwhelmed at a wide open siphon. My drains are only 1" right now, I would need to go dual siphon to turn it all the way up. Or plumb them over again larger. It's ripping and quiet so no need.

Btw, display is 250g. It's just a single 1.25" 45' elbow dumping into the tank, no reduction.

That’s awesome! My GHA is on my plugs :/ but I will hire another team of snails to combat it if I have to. I don’t have sps although I want to in my second tank eventually!
Try and clean your plugs because if GHA gets into heads of LPS it is hard to clean out with dips and tweezers.

Nutrient levels are settling down and algae scrubber is growing big ol globs of shmootz. Everything (other than this fungia from my other thread) is doing well. Still dialing in the lights but happy with the jump to a bigger tank so far.

Not super familiar besides knowing that’s it’s not fun. If I remember not many things eat it? I’m battling hair algae on my plugs, but I’m able to put a turbo on it before I go to sleep and it’s okay the next day. Only grows on the plugs in my entire tank, kinda weird to me.
Hair algae does the same in my tank but one of my Cuc clean them off every couple days. A positive for my tank is my Duncan that I have had for 3 weeks now just started to grow two new heads which is awesome to see as my tank is just 5 weeks old

Heck yeah! I didn’t listen to the lfs guy or many people…. I ended up putting in corals and my clowns in after like a week…. I did water changes every few days until I was at 0 ammonia. Now everything is on a better schedule. My zoas were completely fine! Multiple heads growing just the same as you’re experiencing. I think it’s made out that starting a tank is harder than it is. Just gotta be diligent

Haha I did the same! I’m glad it’s doing well. I started with a 10 gallon and within a month I moved to a 20long frag tank and a 36 bow front.

Like a lot of people I picked it back up at the start of COVID. I had always had a PICO jar or two in my office, but my wife got me a little 10 gallon for my birthday last year and it just turned into “I need a bigger tank”!
