TANK TALK: Do you already own and use any Avast equipment? If so, what is your favorite and why? If not, is there anything at the top of your list?
I share @tbrown's two with the addition of the ato. I have a sump on my fw setup and top offs are bothersome.

Reef Jerkey is high on my list. I love feeding a large variety. That and the plank. I'm too newb for ozone and reactors, but that might be something in the next upgrade.

I would be interested to know the approximate time the plank takes to get the reef jerkey circulating downward. In my system, I have the return pumps shut off 2 min before liquid food gets dosed into the tank and about 6 min before an Eheim drops TDO pellets. Return pumps stay off for 22 min. For example, If the plank takes about 10 min to churn the reef jerkey well, I'd probably program it to start at about 3 min before the pump goes off so that it spits out the food at approximately the same time as the TDO pellets. The gyre keeps running and will blow everything around.

Some of the food bits start dropping out almost immediately. Usually the larger pieces like the mysis and pacific krill take longer, and can take upwards of 30 min. I don't think you need to adjust the return pump. Personally, I always leave mine on. My fish nab basically every particle coming out of that feeder almost immediately.

Same! I don't use the Plank, but I'll take Reef Jerky, add a little bit of AminOmega and Garlic, add some tank water, shake well and dump into a high flow area of my tank. The Halichoeres Wrasses rarely let the big floaters last long enough to find the overflow.

Longest I traveled for a fish related item is 2.5 hours. Actually I was a passenger from DC to PacificEast on the eastern shore. It was a couple of reefers going and I tagged along. Great store. I continue to this day ordering from there. It was over a decade ago so I don't remember what I got.

I think I have almost every Avast equipment they sale; ozone, ato, spyglass and plank ( I have 3 tanks in total, 1 main, 1 frag and 1 temp/hospital). Favorite is the plank, I can take vacations and the fish will still be alive!! Very very close second is the ato which again allows me to take vacations I just need to get a larger water reservoir surprised that 20 gallons doesn't last a week.

Forgot, I have an Avast Kalk stirrer too.

I don't own or use any Avast equipment now. On top of my list is the Plank Autofeeder. I have read so many good reviews on it and it'll be a must have for me.

TANK TALK: Reflect on your most significant reefing achievement or milestone. Whether it's successfully keeping a challenging coral or achieving a stable and thriving reef, share the moment that made you most proud as a reefer.
That would be the first time an acro frag based out. I felt like "I arrived". lol

A lot over the years (Black Pearl recirc skimmer, Davy Jones locker(s), ozone reactor, media reactor(s)...). Right now I have a barrel tender on my RODI system and it is indispensable to me.

TANK TALK: What’s the furthest you’ve travelled for a reef related experience or acquisition?
For me it was to a local reef swap about 1.5 hr away. Just a small group, brought the wife along for a nice saturday drive. She fell in love with a Aptiasia Eating Filefish which I was need of any ways. He had great colors and patterns to hime

Don't currently have any of your products but do have some DIY plexi lids. One of the nice things about working for a window repair company. Always have scrap glass laying around for the taking LOL

Nope, first found out through the plank feeder. And that is #1 for me atm. I need to feed these wrasse. They get so pushy if they only get fed twice a day.

Get (or win) a plank and set that bad boy to 5x per day! My wrasses eat 4-6x and still look at me begging!

I need to figure out something like this for curved acrylic. I have a 36" diameter cylinder tank that's getting ready for water, but I don't want to start it up as a reef tank until I have an easy and reliable cleaning plan in place. And that plan doesn't include hand scraping coralline and that green plaque algae that's even worse to get off.
Too funny, I've been tinkering with some ideas for the very same thing. I could describe it verbally but I think if I drew it up it would make more sense. I'll get to it.
