Hello,

I'm in the planning stages of an IM SR60 build.
I'd like to put together a T-slot light rack to attach to the back of the APS stand.
Has anyone done it? I'd love to see pictures of where and how you attached the rack to the stand!
My light fixture is about 15 pounds and I can't attach to the wall or ceiling.

TIA!
Ben

Well i have mine mounted to the wall.

But i can give you pictures of my setup.

I didn't want to drill or mount on my legs on my APS as they are supports, and putting holes in supports is like poking holes in a foundation and hoping you don't hit the magical unlucky lottery somehow.

But you would need to use L brackets and metal tapping screws im guessing.

Also i would not feel comfortable with the Tslot rubbing against my glass tank, and i live in Cali which is known for earthquakes, and all it takes is one good shake to scratch or god forbid chip it on a hard shake.

I would just use 2040 and 1 1/2” stainless deck screws if you want to go to the cabinet. Something like this.

For the arm you just need joiner plates:

So i attached the T-slot to the wall directly.
Its not 8020, but 2020. I was able to get 20 pieces of 4 feet 2020 tslots for an insane deal on amazon black friday.

But here is how i did it.

I used ss 90 degree brackets.
These are not ones special for tslot but normal ones as the special tslot ones only work for 8020, and not 2020.

It extends from the wall here..

And it hangs these lights...

Its way more then your 15lbs.... its 2 x XR30 G6's and a AP700 knockoff by Colbat Aquatics that ended up discontinuing it after first year production.

Thanks for the info!
The posts are super helpful! Never thought about the rack hitting the tank. I'm in San Mateo, CA.
I'll have to insert some spacers.
