Hi i will be switching my tank from RS 170 to RS 350, both tanks are in same room, my questions are
Do i have to go through a cycle again when transferring everything over including water? Can i also add bacteria in like atm colony or seachem stability just to be on the safe side? Also i will be scrubbing my existing rocks because i have alot of algae.
Do i add my existing water first or can i fill in like 200lts fresh mixed r.o in the new tank with new rock and then add the rest with my existing water ( 6 months old) and some of my rock?

here are roughly 300 tank transfers

study here for an easy swap.

highlights: tap water is #1 trick we use, the entire thread is about sandbed rinsing with tap water. that's what makes all the transfers work perfectly.

every job done there was done the same way, so studying any 10 jobs shows you ten equal ways to take apart, rinse, and move any reef tank.

dont use bottle bac

the cycle will be skipped

lower the light levels in the new setup, then slowly ramp up over ten days.

no ammonia testing is required. try and edit your thread to remove the emergency flag
