Tank is about 3 years old and just went through a year of Dino's and in the battle removed some sand and also didnt add enough went it was out together.. Can I add sand to areas where the glass bottom is exposed and add some to the top of some of the existing sand ?

Shouldn't be an issue.

You could also buy the Carib sea alive sand and add it but regardless of what sand you get tho only add it in increments like at most a quarter of the tank at a time every couple weeks because you are suffocating out the existing bacteria in the sand bed when you add over old sand because the flow and oxygen is no longer hitting there to keep the nitrifying bacteria alive and so it turns the bacteria from that to a kind that lives deeper in the sand where there is little to no oxygen the name of that specific type escapes my mind right now and also be aware of a mini back cycle when you add until the bacteria catches up that’s why you would give it a couple weeks in between sand additions to let it cycle before continuing
