@Jason Scalise what settings are you using on the Nero 3? Trying to dial mine in on the Nuvo 20 as well. Thanks!

I have it set all day to Random with a range of 15% to 45% and "variance" of medium.

The only variation of that is from 9-930pm, I have it pulse for 10secs each on and off at 80% for 15min. Just a way to blow things around. not sure that helps but seemed like a good idea. like a nightly 15min surge.

My setup is SPS-heavy but with several gonipora and euphyllia and also some zoa.....so flow can't be too crazy high for those softies.

Heater Placement

The BRS 100W heater is too long to fit in the baffle chamber sitting upright. Smaller heaters would fit fine there. I chose to put my titanium heater lying on the bottom of the main chamber. Basically right near the return pump.

Heater placement.jpg Fists fine there and uses what would otherwise be unused space. And saves room for the 2 baffle chambers for something else.

will be controlled with Apex and associated temp probe.

@Jason Scalise did the placement of the heater here ever become an issue? Or is it still running there just fine? I currently have the Helios 75w in one of the baffle chambers, but I'm looking to add a protein skimmer and I'm quickly running out of space.

I thought I provide an update on progress.

Additives
I have been dosing AFR for a few months now and that has been helpful. As corals have been growing I have had to increase dosing to keep up.

I have also been dosing nitrate I was having constant issues keeping it elevated (>5ppm) despite having reasonable PO4 levels (between .05-.1ppm). This was despite increasing feeding. I stopped putting photons through the refurgium for this reason as I did not need additional export.
I made my own nitrate mix with food grade sodium nitrate. That has worked well and has been stable.

I also now use more regular my automatic feeder. Its more regular and that alone has helped with overall stability.

Fish include
Yellow Clown Goby. (Video here)
Yasha Goby paired with a pistol shrimp
Royal Gramma

Corals
Corals are doing pretty well.
Although I did well with 2 nice gorgonians for a while, something happened where they just stopped being happy and did not make it. Probably could not keep up with nutrition needs, is my guess.

The main attraction is the echinopora in the center. When I got it, the frag was the size of quarter (about 1"x1"). It clearly is happy given that it is shading-out everyone else. I had to rearrange corals several times to keep them in the light.

Zoas are expanding

Some other SPS and euphyllia are doing well too.
Here are some videos.
And some more videos.
and acropora.
