Spread the reef love: How do you show that you love reefing?

Do you share with others the fact that you love reefing? You have beautiful pictures of your amazing reef tank – of course people should see them! Maybe you regularly talk about your reef, maybe you have reef art throughout your home, maybe you always wear reef gear, maybe you put reef stickers on anything in or around your home that doesn’t move, and maybe you have other ways of showing that you love reefing. Please tell us in the comments that follow!

I talk to friends, family members, and co-workers about the hobby. It's fun to show people how in-depth the hobby gets and what is possible to have inside of a tank in your own home.

Most people in my life are tired of hearing about my tanks, lol. I post on almost every social media platform there is, and tell everyone who will sit still long enough to listen.

OOOh I need to make some reef art! Great idea!

Not nearly at the level of some photographers here but I think a couple of mine may be frame worthy?

I like to share photos and talk about reefing. Unfortunately, my tank is still 5 months old with no corals so not much going on.

I don’t tell the neighbors about the reef in my garage because in the past I had too many people asking to see the fish. I know they see the blue light at night and they stay away from what ever I might be growing, and that works out fine.

I do trade frags with a few folks, it is nice to see there faces light up when they see what they got.

Im over trying to spread the hobby, it’s driving demand and prices through the lid.

I show my love for reefing by taking exceptional care of all of my personal tanks and their inhabitants and aquire only aquacultured coral and captive bred livestock. I extend the same amount of care to all of the tanks and inhabitants in the lab as well. Our lab tracks and records the lineage of all of their coral, fish, and invertebrates similar to that of a pedigree for dogs. I have become accustomed to this type of information attached to my reef acquisitions. I spread my love for reefing by encouraging others to seek only ethically sourced livestock (preferably captive bred) and aquacultured coral. I hope you all love or grow to love reef keeping as much as I have.

I share pics of new additions to the tank on Instagram. I love talking about reefing with my family and friends.
I love taking my wife and kids to the LFS and share interesting facts with them and let them help choose corals. They also get to choose the names for all he fish. Now the whole family is very enthusiastic about reefing.
