I wouldn't say extremely rare as I have had two separate torches spawn in two separate tanks in the last 3 years. Here's one of the babies. I also had my dendros spawn as recently as late last year. Vid attached for proof lol. They do spawn but it is extremely rare.
Do you have any vids or pics of the spawned dendros?I wouldn't say extremely rare as I have had two separate torches spawn in two separate tanks in the last 3 years. Here's one of the babies. I also had my dendros spawn as recently as late last year. Vid attached for proof lol.
Unfortunately, shortly after the dendros spawned, I had to take down that tank so I never got to see any babies from that spawning event. Fortunately, this same dendro community just spawned again in the new tank that I placed them in, approximately three weeks ago so I'm hopeful that there might be babies in the future.Do you have any vids or pics of the spawned dendros?
I used to have a 90g nps tank that was full of sun corals dendros and 3 rhizos the suncorals and dendros grew really well for me and I was able to frag them quite a lot but never saw a spawn or evidence of one. Not saying it cant or didnt happen and may have well happened in my tank but maybe flow was too much and the spawn was washed away?
I also forgot to say I was waiting for that shrimp to use the dendros as vending machines. He showed good restraint.I wouldn't say extremely rare as I have had two separate torches spawn in two separate tanks in the last 3 years. Here's one of the babies. oops..that was the wrong video...here's the thread where i posted the correct video.I also forgot to say I was waiting for that shrimp to use the dendros as vending machines. He showed good restraint.
Very cool.I wouldn't say extremely rare as I have had two separate torches spawn in two separate tanks in the last 3 years. Here's one of the babies. I also had my dendros spawn as recently as late last year. Vid attached for proof lol.
These events seem to occur in September. Ours did the same.Unfortunately, shortly after the dendros spawned, I had to take down that tank so I never got to see any babies from that spawning event. Thank you for posting that. We need more people that have had similar experiences to share so that we can learn more about captive breeding habits or patterns. These events seem to occur in September. Ours did the same.

This is interesting. Both in September, I wonder what the correlation is if any?Unfortunately, shortly after the dendros spawned, I had to take down that tank so I never got to see any babies from that spawning event. I can not get enough of that bottom pic.....really all of them are great!Had a large spawning event in my system. Over 100+ babies of several different hybrid variants come out of it. I wrote an article for Reef Hobbyist Magazine that should be out this Fall. Hopefully it’ll be a good read for some looking to replicate the process in their systems.
