@BSA Corals
Contact him through forum or website. I don’t think these are on the site yet but he sent me these pics for you of what’s available and said they are all 500-600 and incredibly bright in person

Jumping in on this conversation because I purchased a Holy Grail from AquaSD and after reading I'm 2nd guessing myself. I don't think they would intentionally false advertise. What do you guys think?

Please post how it looks when it comes. I don't believe ASD has any of the original ASD Holy Grails anymore.

There is a asd lineaged HG torch but I think they sold all a while ago. I will say these do look like grails but asd is known for editing picture saturation. Sorry, it’s true. Post pics on arrival and we can help confirm. Grail should also be bright under white light.

I just got this. It’s not a grail, it’s a torch of the gods. But as an example of:

1) Advertised pics matching in person (no editing, truthful photos from vendor )
If anything…it’s a little more vibrant and bright in my tank compared to the vendors

And

2) “bright under white”
Non edited vendor photo, can tell from the natural colored skin tone and eggcrate, white frag plug in background.

The asd ones very well may be grails. You just can’t be sure of anything, from anyone, until you have it in hand

It’s called torch of the gods. But, I have seen very very similar torch called sun god. I have a sun god coming tomorrow to compare

I'm local and I just posted the link to show what they currently have. I purchased directly from ASD unaware of "false grails".

Beautiful torches! I have seen the difference in person with what they post and how they actually look. Most of the time in person its not to different than what it looks like under blue light. But I always pick up locally so I'm not disappointed. I'll post pictures when I get home. What lighting should I use when I take them?

Also what settings do you use on your phone so the pictures show the true color?
To get pictures to represent in person viewing you need blues + Violet at their normal settings, white off or at a very low percent, and a clip on orange lens

I use the orange one included in this kit

This hobby would require a lens lol. It's never ending. This would be the only way to actually verify if it's a grail correct?

I would say through photographs over the internet…to allow others to see what you see in person

But more importantly, to me at least, it lets me photograph corals accurately to watch for progress, growth, changes positive or negative, and sharing with others.
And yes. OFC it’s something else to buy lol

Orange lens arrives today. You said blues & violet at normal setting. What is normal considered? I have three AI Prime 16's. Keep them at 60-70% with white basically off?

You’ll have to fiddle and experiment.
I find night pics come out best-there’s no glare or reflections on glass if the ambient light in the room is dim.

AI prime I use blues and violet around 80 and white around 15.

Your camera and setup will make it a little diffferebt for you but I would say start with that and take some pics and see if it matches real life. Generally adjusting white makes the biggest impact

I definitely need to mess with the settings. The pictures on my wife's Iphone compared to my Samsung S23 were way different. Maybe less blue and a little more white. Fake grail or real? What do you guys think. I'll get more pictures.
