Yall ever seen a spawned holy grail torch? This thing is incredible with the flesh covering some of the plug! Some photos with and without a filter. This spawned in my LFS display tank.

I don’t understand, what do you mean it’s spawned? Torches don’t reproduce by getting rid of a piece but rather just grow new heads
As far as I know , which isn’t much so love to be corrected

They do spawn but it is extremely rare.

What do you mean by spawned?

The flesh band growing down the plug is a sign of a healthy torch but not used for reproductive purposes.

Here is a coral of mine that was spawning

Literally produced babies in the their display tank and they started growing around the tank. Not propagated. They started with basically no skeleton and just some small tentacles and have since grown a base skeleton.

This was a baby. They had several heads of a holy grail in their main display tank and then babies started popping everywhere. They waited for them to grow some skeletons and then moved them to frag plugs. I’ll try and get more pictures of the little ones popping up around the tank.

Very cool

Better send it to me to… study further…
Apparently the coral was on hold for some collector and the employee forgot and now it’s mine. Hoping that since it was born into captivity it’ll be way more resilient. And I paid $400 for 2 heads.

This r2r member has spawned a lot of torches. Check out post 8240 (I think or was it 8420...) Actual spawn in action.

Edit It was 8420.

Their photo taking is much better. Growth rate I did notice is also insane. I had it in my tank 2 days and alk consumption increased dramatically.

That’s crazy I had no idea they could do that. I wonder what triggers it
Looking at @FarmerTy post, he thinks it was temperature related but looking forward to his article that goes over it later this fall.

My LFS did nothing however and they just appeared one day.
