found this thing when i took a sample from my sand looking for dinos. it had a long stem and seemed to be eating the diatoms around it. i was worried it might be a baby aiptasia but i'm pretty sure none of the microscopic stages look like that

Yeah, that's definitely a polyp of some variety; I would guess a hydroid as well in this case.

I won against hydroids with a peppermint shrimp, but the peppermint shrimp started digging into my 24k gold torch and then the torch started receding and never recovered. Peppermint got removed and digi hydroid is back. So I lost the war.
