Any ideas what this clear tube is? Looks like part of the GSP? The tip of the tube is the same color as the GSP tips.

That isn’t gsp by the looks of it. That looks like galaxia. The tube mentioned is a sweeper. Keep away from other coral as it will probably win lol

Update:
My Zoa is fully opened and is a deep red, really cool stuff. The galaxea coral is really neat too, purple and neon green under the lights.
I think dry my rock ia starting to become alive… it’s Alive!!

still figuring out how to take good pictures with lightroom. I still cant capture the colors correctly.

Welcome to the Fluval Flex club and nice tank!
I used the BRS screen top lid for mine. I used all of the elbows to open up the back so equipment can fit back there (can be seen on my build thread). It's a cheap option that has worked for me.

thanks! how is the evaporation with that lid? Right now evaporation is a real problem.

I have a 5 gallon tank underneath for the ATO. Depending, it burns through that in 7-12 days.
There is a pellet stove on the opposite side of the room and it runs the majority of the day and evening right now. With it on, I get a lot of evaporation so I'm typically going through 5 gallons every 7 or so days.

Well I got two small clownfish and a hammer. Everything was going great until the larger clown wedged itself into the rockscape and died. Such is life I guess, just frustrating! Rats..

I went to sleep and they were nothing swimming, this morning she was nowhere to be found, I flipped the rock up and there was a lifeless tail.

Super frustrating. I picked up another clown and it seemed strange from the get go... lived about a week then i found it stuck to the power head....arggg. So we had 1 clown fish kill itself and the other one was weird from the getgo. I hope on the second clownish gets better!

Wow, time flies- 4 months later!

So we had some ups and downs, I lost 2 clowns, a frogspawn and a mandarin over the last 6 months...the mandarin lived about 30 hours and I even got her to eat! Really weird, maybe she was sick. Have an outbreak of bubble algae but that was my own stupidity so I got some emerald crabs.

My current stocking
2 clowns
1 Yellow watchman Goby
1 Fire Fish
1 Royal Dotty back
2 Emerald Crabs
2 Turbo Snails
3 Trochus snails
1 Hammer
1 Rock Flower Anemone
3 Different Zoas
A Chalice

I'm figuring everything out, its been fun. I really want a 6 line wrasse but I don't know if I can fit it in there with the other 5 fish- any ideas?

Anyone have any Bubble tips that they are looking to get rid of? I am wanting to give the clowns a potential home

I have 7 fish in a 32 gallon including including a 6 line. The tank is a little over 2 1/2 yo. It works for me but remember fish are individuals.

Well, made 2 mistakes as a novice reefer.

Fire fish jumped out of the tank...this was my fault. I am suspecting the dottyback was bullying it. Sucks, I loved that fish.
I added a 6 line wrasse and the dotty back, and both clown fish killed it within an hour. Sucks. But you live and you learn. Not sure where to go from here, maybe I'll just keep the 4 of them. Also have an alage outbreak...yippee!

My fire fish tried to jump out of my tank a couple of times. Eventually made a DIY lid, and never had issues again.

Big Update:

So my tank crashed, I bit off more than I could chew and didn't research the chemicals, levels and all of that jazz correctly. All of the coral died, but the fish are troopers and lived. I had since got most of the GHA out, the chemicals right, and started dosing.

I picked up a torch, a favia and a fox coral- all are doing great! I get why its addicting now. I have to take things slow and keep learning!
