Small overflow drain options

I've acquired a small reef-ready frag tank with a very small overflow box built in. It has a single 1" hole drilled, center, at the bottom of the overflow.

I'd like to know what options I have for drains on this overflow. Is that enough space for a durso drain?
The previous owner said he was using a maggie muffle on the drain .

The Maggie looks like it would be more quiet, although I have never used one.

Is the hole an inch, or for a 1-inch bulkhead?

Yeah I had never heard of the maggie before this. Looks like it would need constant maintenance. I'd prefer a durso or something like that if possible.

Yup, probably, lol...

If the hole is in the middle, it might be a tight fit. Otherwise a durso with 1" pipe fitting should fit. I would buy the parts and dry fit them, most stores have a decent return policy if doesn't work out...

Cut out the overflow, patch the hole and order a fijicube.com overflow kit.

Ohhh those are nice and affordable. I will definitely bookmark that site for future reference.
I'm going to at least attempt running this in its current state before modding.
