How long have you had the leopard wrasse? I was told they need a 2 inch sand bed minimum, yours looks less than that. I would like to get one and was actually debating making my sand bed deeper. My 2 leathers that I got as about 1” frags. The one on right is about 12” in diameter.
Just noticed my female leopard photobombed it.
Inch or so works. Some parts of the sand bed are usually deeper. They'll figure it out. If yours is really shallow, there's the risk of hitting its beak on the way into the sand. How long have you had the leopard wrasse? Sorry for the tangent.
No problems. I also have a mature male too that’s about 4. 5”, she’s about 3”, maybe more. I’ve had had them maybe 4 years? I think I got them before Covid. They were probably about 2” then. So the male was originally a female. How long have you had the leopard wrasse? I was told they need a 2 inch sand bed minimum, yours looks less than that. Ahhhh I wish we had interesting subjects like that, in our country :/Yeah I teach Marine Science environmental science and planetary science in that room. I'm right in the middle of my summer class where I take the kids on a field trip everyday for 3 weeks. We've been fishing, snorkeling, visiting the University of Miami Rosenstiel School and experimental fish hatchery, glass bottom boat tour out of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, shark tagging with the University of Miami, a dolphin swim and more..... the class is amazing! The kids and I have a blast.
Those are some monster leathers! My 2 leathers that I got as about 1” frags. The one on right is about 12” in diameter.

Well not really negative issues but kinda my fault, firstly I really liked the walls and bought those which I shouldn’t have done, secondly I had my chiller breakdown on me in the middle of a heat wave and finally I was away for once when I asked the people in my house to dose a cartoon amount of all for reef which which caused the alk to spike from 8 to 12What were your negative issues?
Those toadstools are gorgeous! How often do they shed? And how long do they do it for? What do you do to help speed up the process?I have two toadstools that have grown quite a bit over the last year. My clownfish bounces between the two.
I like how this looks! Must have been easy to maintain! Why’d you close it down tho? This is my predominantly softie tank that ran from '07-'15
Those leathers are really nice! Love the leopard as well hahahMy 2 leathers that I got as about 1” frags. The one on right is about 12” in diameter.

I’ve had the sand move away in the middle due to the water flow and there was about 1/4th inch of sand there when I added my Coris wrasse, suddenly he got spooked my something and dived straight down into the glass which caused his body to bend to one side, like literally, poor guy couldn’t make it :/No problems. Yeah, I’ve considered more sand, it’s a little deeper in back where the sleep. Sometimes I’ll see one of them in the corner where you can kind of see the them only half buried.
This is a beautiful system. The toadstools look amazing. I love toadstools. No SPS for me anymore, but a few LPS amongst the softies (and the mag) ……
Hmmn, don’t appear to have a recent picture with the daylights on.
I love this tank. Do you run carbon if so how oftenNo SPS for me anymore, but a few LPS amongst the softies (and the mag) ……

In the welter of proclaiming SPS the pinnacle of reefing, softies have been relegated (by some) to the category of reefing lite. They ARE much easier, that is true, but I would put a softie tank side-by-side with SPS any day. All to say, I agree, toadstools are very cool. This is a beautiful system. The toadstools look amazing. Well .... I do have a carbon cannister that runs continuously, and it does currently contain carbon; but I haven't replaced it in many months, and I would be surprised if the carbon were not fully exhausted. My water is nice and clear, with no yellow cast or funky aroma, so carbon is less necessary. I also run a large UV continuously, so that helps a lot with water clarity. Although the bulb is well past replacement there also (sensing a trend )I love this tank. Do you run carbon if so how often
any for sale?Godzilla Yuma, they can get pretty big and much larger than these pictured.
