On the verge of having my new 8’ 240 running last design step is aquascaping this monster. My head is swimming with ideas but can’t settle on a direction. I have 200+ pounds of rock to work with. Would love to see pictures of members tanks in this size range to get an idea. I thought I liked the NSA style but I’m leaning towards tons of rock and holes/ caves as I think it looks more natural. Let me see whatcha got!! Thanks!!

I have always built my previous scapes on a table in my garage. Problem with the new tank is the glass cross braces. I’m thinking I’m going to have to assemble inside the tank to create a larger structure.

There are 8 individual structures which are interlaced in my photo above. Each is on a Marco foundation rock will fit in my cross braced tank as well.

83x30x25, I learned from my old tank that less is more in many cases. Mine and exnisstechs are very similar in shape and philosophy.

First pic was roughly a year back. Second pic was a few days ago.

Plan is to go mainly sps to increase the height of the overall structure.

Threw this together to see what I thought about just piling rocks together. Probably have 100 pounds that I think would fit better if I broke them apart and stacked smaller pieces.
The middle structure is actually wide open. Was glued together the way I did my previous NSA scapes.

the 3 kids were better. Go with the original thought ;-)
Personally, I think you might want to give more thought to the outlet there. i.e. splashing water and such close proximity. maybe an outdoor cover at least?

I’ve never dealt with Marco rocks so I can’t really give a good opinion on the best ways to stack them. Ofc the way you have them stacked now will give you a lot of real estate for sps growth.

Debated on going taller with each structure but I think that’s as high as I was to go.

Waiting on a canopy to be finished. That will keep the outlet protected. Still may put an outdoor cover on. The 3 kids would take way more maintenance than I’m willing to put into the tank haha.

I know stag corals can completely change the look of any aquascape quickly. So even though it looks kinda bland now your skills with coral placement can completely change it.

I was just thinking this. No matter what the thing looks like when you start it’s going to become a completely different feel once I move 60 som odd corals to the new tank.
