Wife and I went to Chicago for a 3 day weekend and of course my main stop was the Shedd aquarium. I was not disappointed that's for sure. Didn't know it at the time, but they where doing there annual fund raiser gala on the same day, I was wondering why they closed the aquarium at 2PM on a Saturday. Looks like Than from tidal gardens was there. I also checked out some local fish stores I will make a separate post.

Most of the pics are from the wild reef down in the basement.

FYI if you didn't already know reefapalooza is going to Chicago next year would be a perfect time to go.

Yes, Chicago has some amazing museums. Anyone going to Reefapalooza in 2019 should take advantage of the world class museums in Chicago. Most are within walking distance, if your fit. The Shedd is pretty decent. They have special displays throughout the year. Get in line early though or buy tickets online prior.

The Shedd got me into fish keeping many, many years ago and appears to be as inspiring as ever. Thanks.
