I apologize since I'm sure this has been asked a million times and I know I heard this question on a podcast somewhere but can't remember which one.
I've had a purple tang in quarantine for the past 2 weeks at therapeutic level copper power (2.5ish). Thankfully he is doing super well even after this time. He came in with ich and I ramped the CP up within 48hrs to make sure he didn't die. He didn't have spots when I got him since the vendor has sub-therapeutic levels but developed them as I was ramping up. Spots went away and came back 3 times. (Small sugar/salt grain looking specks).
So here is my question. The last time he had maybe 5 or 6 specks on him was either Sunday or Monday (it's Thursday now). Is it still OK to release to observation since today is the full 2 weeks? Or do I need to keep the quarantine going for longer since there were recent spots? I've lost too many fish to copper and don't want to lose this one just because I kept him longer than absolutely necessary. I hadn't planned on releasing till maybe Saturday anyway when I have more free time for observation.
Thanks for the help!
