dedication. is more the termOne more in the basement. My Gal calls my hobby an obsession
Can you tell me more about how you built the mini frag tank and what equipment is used (especially the lights) thanksMy little crowded sump setup
It is built from the old ato reservoir that i drilled a hole into to att a pvc pipe that acts as the overflow. In the back is a red amd white pvc thing that is connected to the manifold that supplies water from the main return pump. For flow there is a maxspect jump gyre with one rotor attached and the light is the smallest size ai blade growCan you tell me more about how you built the mini frag tank and what equipment is used (especially the lights) thanks
Great. Trust that nobody else can help you maintenance the tank when you are away from home.Partial on the right side.
Cool. I also think an enough sump will be fine.small but does the job
Zeo is divisive & can be expensive.Cool. I also think an enough sump will be fine.
I plan to add the Zeo reactor. Any thought?
Thank you.Zeo is divisive & can be expensive.
Overall I've had great results but you are somewhat bound by the rules.
It's worth reading the guide thoroughly & making minor tweaks as needed if you go ahead.
I like the reactor as it's an easy way to feed corals daily.
There's a lot of products from kz that aren't needed & certainly not until you are ULNS.
The nutrient reduction isn't as brutal & rapid as some claim so there's scope to adjust to your needs.
It is great. I believe everyone will do like you if they have a free room.I recently got tired of the cramped space under the tank and moved everything to the garage which was right on the other side of the wall. I still have to get my UV back online and the reactor manifold plumbed but it’s doing fine for now.
I’m in SoCal so the heat is a pain but the chiller has been keeping up just fine and winters are mild so heating won’t be a problem either. The extra power cost is well worth the ease of maintaining everything in my opinion. I was initially worried about the CO2 but I bought a meter and it was actually better in there than in the house even with cars pulling in and out. I just need to add some ventilation to pull some of the heat out and let the chiller relax a bit.
Look nice. It seems you have plenty much of UV bulbs there. Here's my sump

That's AWESOME! Maybe the best control panel I've seen! In the process of moving my sump, too - same reason, but nowhere near the level you've taken it to.I recently got tired of the cramped space under the tank and moved everything to the garage which was right on the other side of the wall. Great set up.That's AWESOME! Maybe the best control panel I've seen! In the process of moving my sump, too - same reason, but nowhere near the level you've taken it to.
For me - 90 gallon display, wanted better access and a refugium to level out the pH swings. My sump is 3 chambers, including the refugium. The new sump lives under a custom cabinet with removable countertop.
I mounted the dosing pump on a pull-out rack, with a cable-drag to manage the tubes and power.
My display is an old iPhone that's attached to the panel with Velcro with the Apex Fusion app permanently open.
2 big learnings - cable management is a bear, and you need more space than you think! My panel is mounted on hinges so that it can be swung out to access the cables and power bricks, and so that it stays in place when the counter is pulled out from underneath. At the moment, extra cable length is bundled together with cable ties, but I'm not sure if that's the final solution.
Lots of great ideas in these threads - keep them coming!!
