Im hoping for the same! Do you every do any clean up on them or do you let them run wild?

I let them pop up anywhere but occasionally they do fight with other corals then I will cut them off and either throw them loose into my nano reef, or into a small container in my frag tank and let them attach to plugs or rubble. I also have limited success gluing them. When I glue them I keep the container above the water line and they have 0 flow for the rest of the day.

I’m curious does anyone have mushroom warfare going on? I haven’t heard or read much about the topic. I’ve been under the assumption that they are pretty friendly across types. Anyone encounter anything different?

They seem to have a stronger sting then you might thing. I have had them overgrow certain types of chalice, blastomussa, and favias among other lps. As far as mushroom vs mushroom I haven't really seen any signs of warefare between discosoma, ricordea (haven't had many in a while) and rhodactus. That being said in a "garden" I have seen different discosomas outcompete and over grow other varieties. It's not that they were stung out, they simply didn't grow as fast and got covered.

Thank you for sharing!!! It's definitely something I'm going to keep watch over along the way, we have multiple types of discos and ricordias, for now, I have ones and twos so we'll watch and wait. My hope is that they attach to the rubble I'm planning to put in the area to make it easy to move/giveaway. I'm interested to see where this tank will be in a year. Lots of folks here have already given me a sudo crystalball vision of where we might be.

Still no garden yet. However I ordered 30lbs of crushed coral and plan on doing 2 tables of mushroom garden just going to let them do there thing. Can wait to get this crush coral. I have a few now walking off my plugs and I actually ripped a foot my biohazard bounce cleaning my racks yesterday. So I shall see if it bounces back and grows me a new baby.

Sorry about the quality of some of the pictures I turned my flow up and it's hard to get a focused shot.
I'm running 120 watt black box at about 45% blue and 20% white right now. No shade on the tables.

You've got some great mushrooms! I'm still on the hunt for a magic carpet shroom I haven't found the right color yet. Did your frag recover?

Looks like it's going to be ok. I tore a good piece of the foot off and its anchored well. I hope it does recover. The first picture was of the mom I tore looks like it's going to be fine. The piece I tore off is bouncing up so I'll see. It would be cool if I did accidentally get a baby out of it.

Argh! Mini rant I got a fuzzy carrot top from the last WWC live sale was less then a dime in size and not attached to the plug. Low and behold I put it in a cup and place it in QT and now it's gone... blacklight isn't picking it up :( I think that's the last time I make an impulse buy on a shroom :( I included a picture I've been trying over. I'm hoping when I'm cleaning one day I find it and many more :p.

@mmw64 I'm giving up my source @PacificEastAquaculture... Highly recommend them and I like the customer service. Any shop the calls to ask me how the corals are doing 30 minutes within the arrival time has my vote (they are one of two shops out of many that I've ordered from to do that). Both are doing well!

I love it! Not all species play nice together. My discos seem to live in harmony none have tried to claim an abundance of space yet but I'm waiting and watching. Thank you for sharing you have some great looking pieces!
