Only had like 2 purples and 2 bubble tipped the size of a quarter for about 7-10 yrs. Then plagued w/Dino’s, lost most everything. Recovery involved new lights, elevated nitrate & phosphate from zero to acceptable levels via dosing. The subsequent mushroom explosion to what you see here happened in about 1-1/2 yrs! I suppose they were just lying dormant waiting for conditions to be just right View attachment 1542797
I’m glad that came back! It’s amazing how many you’ve grown in that time! That’s what I love about them, they are hearty little buggers and they aren’t aggressive they just slowly take over rocks. Unlike that GPS and Xenia

Are most on flat frag discs? Since most mushrooms move I was worried that if they made it to the substrate they'd just get picked up by the current. Do you have any of those issues? I'm running about 100 -110 par at peak time (XR30 Gen1's).
Yes, either a flat disk, frag plug, or a piece of rock. I'd prefer a piece of rock because it looks the best. Most of these don't move that much at all, but if they do then I'll try to put them near another disk and see if they will move onto it, then cut the disk. I think these two that I circled have split recently and I may need to do something. I've never had any come off because of the flow though or float around. I used to get 150-160 par down at the center. I think I've dialed it back but not too much because I think the nems need the light.

How many did you start with and how long did it take to get to this many?

I started with one of each color. Really, the biggest benefit I've had is time and exponential growth. I got the orange one about 10 years ago. I'm guessing the blue and green were 6 years or so ago.

I have about twice as many orange ones as blue or green. I haven't tried to count but I would guess over 100 orange ones - but some are tiny button sized and some are 2" so its really hard to compare.

I don't do anything to speed up the growth. I don't target feed them and some of the area is heavily shaded - which they seem to avoid.

Most are attached to the starboard/coraline bottom. Anybody have tips on removing them? A scraper? Blast them with flow so they detach?

Hi All. What are you running your Alk and Salinity at? Recently found out my brand new out of box refractometer was calibrating a point and a half high. As well as my RODI was not correct and alk closer to 12%. I've corrected the salinity issue but waiting on my new rodi to come. Everything else is stable.
Really wish I could post pix of my garden, everything on plugs in 2 tables at the moment so kind of impossible.
Heres some fresh pix from the table garden lol

Building a new aquascape in my 100g and I want to add a mushroom garden in the front low portion of the tank, my initial thoughts are to build marina type rock structure around them to minimize the flow on them. Looking for inspiration, ideas and pictures, please:)

Not big into mushrooms much more into zoas but take a look sorry for bad quality thx

Two more shrooms came today! Super pumped I’ve been wanting an eclectus mushroom for awhile now. Finally able to get one in the tank! Some QT time and hopefully I’ll be able to get them into a garden soon.

That’s a good looking fuzzy! I’m going to have to see if I can find one of those, the color is striking.
You should see it under all blues! They are great coral, I spot feed shrimp once a month and give it a decent amount of flow to lengthen the tentacles. Great hardy coral that I got in a live sale for $30 from TSA.
Pics from when it was a little smaller

For a second there I thought that was gsp My friend suggested modifying a pond basket burying it in sand, rubble and rock building a structure around it. I’ll try and mock it for folks to see the idea
