I am trying to gather a little interest in a second SeXy grow out. I have been doing a little behind the scenes work to gather some interest. Here are the current parties I am aware that are interested in a second group (we are keeping this as a smaller group so we reap our rewards a little earlier):

1. sf_ramsden
2. Troylee
3. purp1244
4. Laird

Once we get this thread going we can decide on the details like how many people we want in on this one, who is growing, etc. So far here are some possibilities:

* Troylee said he may be interested in being the grower. If he was the grower he already has a few of the pieces from the original pack, so we may be able to get Mike at Sexy Corals to throw in some different stuff
* SD Actuary is also interested in being the grower. He is the same guy being the grower for the first group. He wouldn't have any $$ in this second group, but he sounds ok with being the grower.
* I have heard that someone would only like maybe 4 or 5 people in this grow out so it doesn't take as long. Let's have this be a part of the discussion.

Please see the original thread for the main details on the corals included, etc. To name a few: My Miami, Tangerine Dreams, Crazy Fox, BPC Flamethrower, SC Boom Boom, SC Shocker, SC Peace on Earth, SC Celebrity, Rainbow Magic, Space Invader, some sweet scans/favia, and even more...

Once we can figure out the main things like who will grow, how many people do we want in the grow out, etc then we can figure out the final cost per person.

It is late where I am, so sorry for the quick post. I will see what I can get going tomorrow when I talk more with Mike at Sexy Corals and also hear from other interested parties.

Updated the list for who I am aware of at this point. This list could change depending on who grows, people backing out, etc...

I am hearing that there was a dropout from Group #1... So Paint Guy is going to that one and purp1244 is taking Paint Guy's place, as purp1244 was the other person interested in Group #1.

More to follow....

How much interest would there be, or who would be interested in a smaller group gowout? Someone brough up the idea of only having 3 - 4 people max in order to get the pieces faster. Obviously this makes the initial buy in up significantly...

If the growout price was $3,500 like the other group's we would be looking at:

3 buyers - $1,166.67 / ea
4 buyers - $875.00 / ea
5 buyers - $700.00 / ea
6 buyers - $583.33 / ea

I don't know how many people would be interested in a smaller group... I am not trying to step on toes, just trying to throw ideas around that I am receiving PM's about. (I guess this is the reason that being the person to get this going kinda stinks - can't make everyone happy)

Let me know who may be interested in a smaller group, max of four. The numbers on the list are the order I received PM's on, so these would be the first people I ask. If someone doesn't want to do it, then the next in line would be asked if they are interested. The idea is that some of these pieces are known slow growers - Tangerine Dreams, BPC Flamethrower, etc. Some people don't want to have to wait up to a year to get the money's worth.

Well I know 63vette427 is interested in the smaller group as well. So that makes myself, 63vette427 and Troylee. Waiting to see if xmetalfan99 is interested... If he is then our smaller group would be:

1. sf_ramsden
2. 63vette427
3. Troylee
4. xmetalfan99?

Backup:

First in line - purp1244

I'm interested in joining the Grow Out if you need another person or if anyone backs out.

Updated the list with the four interested folks. Currently our group of four consists of:

1. sf_ramsden
2. 63vette427
3. Troylee
4. purp1244

Now we need to get moving on the rest of the details... We need to confirm our grower and agree upon when to cut up the pieces once they've reached fraggable size, etc.

Troylee has offered up being the grower. So first we would all need to be in agreement with this. I for one am not able to as I only have a 34g Solana that is already packed pretty full at this point. I don't know if we would be able to split the grow out into different growers or not (this could be part of the discussion). If we split the growing this would probably increase the cost due to shipping...

Hopefully everyone will chime in and tell us your thoughts here. We would need to discuss getting a few extra $$ to the grower(s) so he/they can purchase food specifically for feeding the corals so they grow faster, etc.
