Thanks guys!
The tank is cycling away, with pods and sea lettuce coming in the mail on Monday to seed the ecosystems. I’ve already dosed probiotics, and will probably add some more in a week or two.

Glass needs a cleaning... now that I’m just waiting for the biological systems to kick into gear, and deciding how I wanna do my lights, I can start getting other projects done:

RODI is finally hung up and properly plumbed!

Nice tank!! I love the overflows in the middle.

Do you know who makes the tank? Sorry if I missed it before in the thread.

Thanks!
I couldn’t tell you the name of the maker, but the guy the tank was built for said he got it custom from Barrier Reef Aquariums in Renton WA

I just got an Alexa for the fish tank because, why not...

Now my Alexa controlls the timer on the ATS lights, sump work lights, refugium light and the Display lights. And I can control each plug by voice. So now for instance if I wanna turn off the display tank lights, while I watch a movie or whatever all I have to say is ‘Alexa turn off the sun’

Anyone who has controlled their tank via Alexa, what sort of things do you control with yours and how?

Also, this is hands down the most convenient thing I’ve purchased for a tank yet... what have I been doing all these years?!

Yeah the DJI strips are pretty awesome, I have a couple in use. I set up my Alexa with my apex and asked for a status update once, nothing since then. Maybe one day when my big system is set up I’ll get it to where I can tell her to do a water change for me.

Well, we’re at that stage where we need more lights... and to finish the rest of the room.

I’m planning on getting a 61” @AquaticLifeProducts T5 hybrid, and either selling my current LEDs or rebuilding the housing so they work with the T5s until I can save up for some kessil 360X s.

I’m not hugely interested in messing with lighting yet so the T5s seem like a great way to get the tank coral ready with as little effort in that department as possible.

I’ve never done T5s before though... if any of you have, what colors did you run, and did you prefer ATI or Giesmann?

Shout out to @AlgaeBarn for getting my copapods here a day EARLY! This is the third tank I’ve started with these guys, and I’ve never failed to have a massive and healthy pod population!

This is my first time buying actual algae from the barn... I’ve always used chaeto but hated the way it looks/feels haha. So I got some sea lettuce!

Can’t wait to get some critters from these guys in the future!

I’ve never ran T5 long term but an planning on doing a retrofit soon on my 90. Since the LED have my whites and daylight, I’m going to be running 4 aquablue plus from ATI. I’ve seen a couple of tanks with the LED and that bulb combo and it’s good for coral and looks good.

Just so you know, the hybrid fixture does not fit the 360x without modifying.

Just letting you know

Thanks guys!

Unfortunately I didn’t get as far as I was hoping... the stand is in the basement and reassembled, but I still need to move it into the finished half of the basement and get the tank onto it....

Gives you an idea of the size. I don’t have kids, and I like standing and looking at the tank, so I’ve got the the top of the stand at bar height (40”). Might be a little more inconvenient to clean the glass or place corals, but I think that’ll be offset by a better viewing experience and improved sump access.
