Yep, pick and spot and hope for the best. Even snap a corner of a tile if you still have one in the tank.

Feeling like crap but more cleaning for me today. Gave the sponge another pass and sucked out as much detritus from the chambers after the Fuge that I could.

Powerhead’s were also cleaned and repositioned slightly.

As I mentioned elsewhere I removed the Phosguard I have always used in a reactor with carbon in favor of 1/8th a cup of GFO. ICP revealed high levels of aluminum and suggested GFO to remove. I knew Phosguard was aluminum based but didn't expect to see so much of a leaching affect. Not that it should hurt anything but if Im going to run Triton i may as well follow their direction.

PO4 down from .08 to .04 as of this morning and Ill be watching it closely. GFO scares the crap outa me having nuked a bunch of frags overnight the one other time I used it.

Tomorrow we plant some seeds!

So I know I cleaned a ton but the GFO works insanely well. Down .02 PO4 in less than 24 hours. Actually dosed some back in the tank with dinner just now.

I have only a tiny cobalt 165gph pump on the reactor so my guess is im probably only getting around 100gph through it.

This exercise isn't going to last very long i can tell you that much. 3 days tops.

Put a fresh sediment filter in the RODI unit.
I change out the sediment each July and refresh the rest every January as a best practice approach. Nothing is ever exhausted but seems like a good idea.
