You might want to set up a shallow bowl of sand for the trachy......

Just need to put him on the sand, don't bury it at all. His flesh will come out and cover the skeleton. You could just put him in a small cap that's about 3-4x as big as him. He will fill it out. I read that they would rather have their flesh touching sand. Both of mine swell to well over 3x their skeleton size.

The swelling is what Ive been waiting to see all day. His skeleton is pointed? Is that a normal cut? Should be gorgeous once hes fluffed up.

Both of mine are pointed as well. It may take a day or 2 to see him puff up. I'm sure he's not happy about being in a bag for a day.

So I had done a good job of avoiding Live Sales in 2018 but since We essentialy have two new tanks to fill and nothing to do on a Saturday I dove into the AquaSD sale yesterday. Dove may not be correct word, More like a Cannonball really. Anyway lots to come late this week!

I'd leave him be for a couple days and then see what he looks like. Remember, he just spent at least 24 hours in a dark bag with no circulation. As long as he's not receding so that you can see the white edges, he should be fine. @DSC reef, Am I missing anything?

I agree. The coral really doesn't look bad. I'd keep it where it is and give it time.

Thanks, I’ll leave him be for now and see what happens.

Well I tested the water today for the first time. Yes you read that right. 9 weeks to the first tests of anything!! Yikes time flies and I am LAZY.

Anyway,

No3 +/- 50ppm
PO4. .4
Alk. 6.6

In my defense i fed ridiculously heavy the last few days trying to trap a fish and make the Trachy happy. At least I know why the Trachy is so mad!

Let me get some of those nitrates!
I shoulda seen that coming. I had bottomed out a couple weeks ago and began running the kessil at a lower intensity just a couple nights a week. Then added some fish and fed like mad. Shouldnt be to hard to fix but I gotta fimd a balance for the fuge and my feeding habits.

Thanks guys!

Picked up some encrusting corals for the bottom glass as well as a couple acros. The tester frags ive added thus far have been doing pretty good even with the high nutrients so I figured why not go for a couple more. Rolled the dice on the ASD Rainbow mili. Its one of my favorite pieces i ever saw in person so.... yeah!
