Thanks! I cant complain, we have a solid grid/supply 99.9% of the time. Gonna be a looong few nights though, loads to do now!

In my three years here, I've been without power for a grand total for probably 7 minutes over maybe 3 or 4 times. The longest one was long enough for me to light the hurricane lamp and get the glass chimney on and the power was back.

How much more is the 3000? I should add, 2000 is probably enough.
It about doubles from $54/day to $92/day. It's also not available locally, I would need to take a 30 minute ride to get it.

Well then... 2000 would be enough then...;):)
I'm not opposed to the larger unit if we think its needed but if 2000w does it I'd hate to waste the time/money. I think its probably okay but once we start talking about start up draw being higher plus measurements in AMPS vs. Watts my eyes glaze over and the stoopid face pops up!

DC wave pumps or AC?
It'll be (2) MP-10's and probably an MJ1200 in the 3rd tank, so both I think?

Or I could keep one of the WAV's plugged into the apex with the heater but kill everthing else on the big tank then use the two MP-10' on the smaller systems. I think that would get me all DC.

BTW I used to run my entire house with a 4500/6000 which is what I have sitting, now that I have a standby.

Day 2 of the power work is well underway. Wound up borrowing a 2000w generator from a coworker which is supporting pumps and heaters in 4 tanks with ease.

Also have a dual whip power bar in the mix so once power is restored later on while im gone my girlfriend can simply kill the generator and unplug that one outlet without having to rewire multiple tanks.

I can do the rest of the cleanup when i get home tomorrow night.

I was thinking about the power issue this morning. And for some reason I've stopped getting alerts on this thread again. I've only lost power maybe once in 5 years and it was for a short period of time. I still need to look into a generator. Water on the other hand... Our infrastructure is getting bad, we've lost water twice this year for a week each time. The first time we at least had water, the second time we had nothing! Sad to say I had 80 gallons of RODI water stored and we couldn't even drink it!

DOT cut a line in my neighborhood Thursday... the water still has a brown tint to it. Needless to say, I'm not happy.

Ugh... that’ll probably crush your RODI unit too.

So Ive been waiting for ORP to reach 300 as my indicator that the tanks ready to add some coral. No real reason other than I was waiting for some unidentifiable benchmark and chose ORP. So very close :)
