Love your response.New user than the one originally mentioned Terryson89 just sent me the same message on a WTB I just posted. Adding to the list to try and warn people. User was reported. Edit: attached picture of chat for proof.
This is nuts! That's a very believable scam, with the pics and all. Sheesh!I texted this guy telling him I saw his add for reef equipment and he is currently trying to get me to fall for his scam. Should I
The R2R moderatorS take this very seriously and they will boot this scammer. Unfortunately he's made multiple accounts, but the mods will get him.Surprised, the moderator on R2R did not do anything to this (MOTHER) he has a few different username on here.
^Good advice!Couple tips to prevent being scammed, when asking for pictures ask the seller to put a piece of paper in the image with your username written on it along with the item you are wanting to buy from them. This will immediately tell you if they have the item and not just some photo off the internet, if they refuse it's a scam.
Also use a credit card for payment, you always have a charge back option to get your money back.
I Trolled them for a while.I texted this guy telling him I saw his add for reef equipment and he is currently trying to get me to fall for his scam. Should
Crazy that you said that.Theguy kept say kindly get back to me. I think it's a Indian thing. This has been going on for years as far as I can tell. It's particularly bad if you place a WTB ad. Amazing how many widows on this forum seem to have such great, high end equipment for sale. Also one thing I've noticed over the years of buying and selling stuff online, is the use of the term "kindly." That seems like a telltale of scammers from overseas.
I realize they change numbers often but this was the scammers number 1(703)664-9458 Have at himCrazy that you said that.Theguy kept say kindly get back to me. I think it's a Indian thing.
Sorry to say but if you send as friends & family you're out of luck. PayPal or Bank will not cover this...Yeah, acting like a 64 year old lady. I sent as Goods and services first and convinced me to change to F&F.
Crazy. I wonder how many people they gotten. Maybe the admins can disable the ability to post on the other forums and send private messages unless a certain criteria is met. Like unless you have 10 post in the welcome forum type think you can not post on any other forums or send private messages.Another one (maybe same one) trying to hit me up again.
Gave generic name and said he got my number from forum named Aquarium forum
I don’t put my number out on forums.
