You have no idea how close I was to upgrading. bRS had a sale recently, I just happened to check in. They had the Aquaforest 180g on sale 1500$ off and x10 points on it, which equated to about $600 in BRS points to spend. I went to check out and it dropped the promotion. I always forget they update things on east coast time, I'm typically shopping post 9pm west coast when I put down the toddler.

I bet you could’ve emailed them and maybe still got the deal. But, something will fall into your lap at some point.

Yup. I’m done adding anything to this one. It has been fun though. I’m going to cool it for a few months and then look into upgrading. I think my wife is actually starting to like it and I know she’s seen some bigger fish she thinks are cool so maybe she will be on board.

I’ve got a few Tenuis in there that are getting close to that 3 month marker so I must be making some progress. I don’t regret going small right now. The challenge is teaching me valuable lessons for sure. I’ll be here asking for upgrade advice and help making decisions when the time comes.

I was at a big birthday party tonight and ran into a guy that has spent his whole life working around fisheries and having large SW and reef tanks. He’s really into large marine animals and is about to install 1000-2000 gallon tank in his house.

Was just reading that. I've used the probio yellow snow before but more as a food source. Will probably pick up some of that food grade calcium carbonate in the link and follow instructions if that's what's still recommended...

I know your upgrading, but I try to imagine what your tank will look like in a few years. The growth, the colors, you probably won't be able to see any rockwork.

Agreed. Barely over 8.0 is good enough, but not the sweet spot for growth. What caused that big dip in your tank?

Unknown, happened while I was at work. By the time I was off work the alerts stopped. Could have been any of a number of things, but my CO2 alarm never went above 600 (phone alert level) so it wasn't air quality.
