Thanks! Getting pretty crowded. Still have 6 on the Frag rack with no place to put them. Still looking for spots.Great looking Tenuis! Very impressive.

Huh? Don't tell me you don't have an ato...I'm still using my refractometer, but it'll be nice to be able to add a couple drops while running around in the morning before work, come back, read the salinity, and go "Yeah, that's alright" or "No, better top off"
Step 4 of my 7 step recovery, unplumbing the ATO, which is controlled by me Hydros and not the new Apex.Huh? Don't tell me you don't have an ato...
That would be wild. 10k+ setup, topping off with an old milk jug lol.Huh? Don't tell me you don't have an ato...
Kitchen measuring cup. That would be wild. 10k+ setup, topping off with an old milk jug lol.
I have a cheap ATO, 2 floats, works well. I still don't trust the optical eyes. That would be wild. 10k+ setup, topping off with an old milk jug lol.
Yeah the " no, better go top off" had me like......huhThat would be wild. 10k+ setup, topping off with an old milk jug lol.
I've liked the tunze osmolators but I've had two optical sensors fail on me within a year of purchase. Both times sensors failed on so water level got too low. Tunze is good about warranty/repair though. My current ATO is hydros running two water level sensors. One optical, one conductive. If ever they don't agree, the system failsafes to off.
Same thing happened to me but I bought a used unit. I’m using the Tunze nano that only has the float now and it’s working good.I've liked the tunze osmolators but I've had two optical sensors fail on me within a year of purchase. Starting to think I might want to try another... But other than those sensors theyve been perfect for me.
That would scare me too. I do 20% water changes, so use a salt that has the same DKH as my tank.odds are using instant ocean reef crystals which has a rediculously high alk. I am afraid to do water changes because of the alk of my RC.
Had mine for a couple of years and no issues but I wipe down the sensor and make sure the float is free once a month or soI've liked the tunze osmolators but I've had two optical sensors fail on me within a year of purchase. But I only have a nano tank and a small ato reservoir. Worst thing that could happen is maybe 1 gallon on the ground.Same thing happened to me but I bought a used unit. I’m using the Tunze nano that only has the float now and it’s working good.
The floats have been reliable. Might do same and just use apex optical as backup highSame thing happened to me but I bought a used unit. I’m using the Tunze nano that only has the float now and it’s working good.
Yes. Seems like unnecessary extra work to me. So many salts that mix at proper alk levels. Can't you lower alk in new water with muriatic acid? I thought I read somewhere that people do.that
The tunz nano is the one is the one I see with issues most of the time.
I don’t know if any brand calibration solution that is reliably accurate in every bottle. I finally started making my own too.The Milwaukee refractometer is cheap enough I recommend it to everyone. You can mix your own 35ppm solution to cross check it's accuracy. Their solution is not accurate, a lot of people had that issue, including me.
I know people say the tropic marin hydrometer works great but those are too fragile for me and you still have to read a line rather than a digital readout.
