8.1 at 1.026. (Typical is 1.027, but if we're bringing everything down, may as well back down salinity as well.)
I would keep salinity at 1.026. Also have you texted a new batch of the saltwater Alk? When we did I thought it was around 7.5

I always fail those!
I’ve had them come up before and be broken. I’ll fail over and over and over. Look here robot, I got all the fire hydrants and busses.
I use IO Reef Crystals and my Alk stays at 8.0 +/- 0.1. Auto WC 1.5% volume each day.
yep me too. I’m actually dosing soda ash now because after WC my all is about 8.3 and then falls to low 7s by end of week with IO reef crystals

Can't you lower alk in new water with muriatic acid? I thought I read somewhere that people do.that
Ive heard of this as well. a few people i talk to used to..but they gave up given the amount of prep time it took to get the ph back up.

I've done this. In a 5 gallon bucket it's only like 3 ml of Muriatic to drop 5 or 6 dKh. Typical dosage is in drops.

Afterwards it would take about an hour of aeration to bring the pH back around to normal. If you're mixing large batches it would definitely take some premixing and time.

If everything else is getting an upgrade this week....

Took me a minute to get used to the Milwaukee but I became confident in it pretty quickly and only pull out the telescope looking refrac every once in awhile to verify. Milwaukee is always right on.

Every once in awhile it will trip out a bit but it’s obvious when it does it.

The Milwaukee refractometer is cheap enough I recommend it to everyone. You can mix your own 35ppm solution to cross check it's accuracy. Their solution is not accurate, a lot of people had that issue, including me.

I know people say the tropic marin hydrometer works great but those are too fragile for me and you still have to read a line rather than a digital readout.
