how are you liking the dinkins phyto compared to other sellers? i noticed they have more phyto strains in their mix and have been thinking about switching
I think it’s been solid. And their pods are good and healthy. Very professional and well packed. And it actually arrived as I started this reply.

Eldredge on r2r has the nicest phyto I've seen
I just looked at that thread do you know where you order it from if not I'll just look when I get back to the house. They definitely have better prices and I like the eight species blend as well

You won that didn't you?
@tbrown wins everything! I heard his garage is so stuffed with the things he wins, he can't even park his car in it!

Dinkins unpacking. Love the personalized touch. They even send Christmas cards out to customers.

Dinkins is a great company! Not knocking them by any stretch. I go there for pods but the Eldredge has better phyto imo

I’ve considered Eldridge for phyto. I’ll look into it for next month maybe switch to just pods from Dinkins. That way I could add a copepod only bottle or two to the Snacklebox delivery.

i’m actually talking about the zoas in my nano, a fluval evo 13.5…zoas grow just fine in my pico/reefbowl!

btw in the nano i do a 25% water change once every 2 weeks. all other corals (including other zoas) look fantastic. But individual zoa colonies get hit with a mystery melt periodically. i’m at the point where i might just stick to inexpensive zoas because i can’t be sure they won’t mysteriously shrivel up and die, it’s frustrating
Hm, that is frustrating. For whatever reason, cheap zoas know they are cheap and anecdotally do better than expensive ones, though that is just perception I believe.

NO, the reason cheap zoas are cheap is because they are easy to keep, frag, and overall reproduce.

Haha, but how does it value itself? Objectively speak, zoa is a zoa regardless of a color morph and price tag. I think "cheaper" ones are just more abundant in the hobby since everyone can afford them, so if someone has them melt, they are easily attainable again.

All I'm trying to say is people notice when expensive ones melt and are talked about more. I've had a cheap one melt away before as well.
