A new guy to reefing that is definitely not me would like to know when it’s too late to bring back a Tenuis? He’s blowing lots of crap off it everyday, starting to get algae on the tips, no PE, no color. Been like that for probably 3 weeks. Still smells like coral but does not look good. Please let me know so I can let “my friend” know what you think.

If its not white there's still hope. Once it's covered in algae or totally white it's probably gone. I've heard of some coming back even then though...

Nope! My shipment of Caribsea Shapes Rock! Let’s see how many come in not broken from delivery :D
I thought about some of those. But I’m a live rocker through and through. If I ever get a larger tank someday I would like to augment with them

Just keep blowing it off with a baster everyday, try to keep things stable and pray?

That’s what I’m doing. I’m augmenting what I already have and removing some rocks that have palys on them that I just can’t rid of.

I’m very much a fan of live rock too, but man, I’ve seen some GORGEOUS aquascapes using Shapes.

Can’t wait to see it! When I got started, the information I was getting was basically that I shouldn’t use live rock due to pests, but I see that I definitely should have now.
