You just measure your par at different intensities so you know where you are, can be, maybe want to be. Lights, to me, are set them where they need to be and leave them alone. The best part is knowing where any hot spots or shader than expected spots are
This is what I just did for the new tank. Checked AB+, LPS and Radiant Color templates at 60% and 80% at 10 different locations on the rock scape and sand. Chose the visual color we found most appealing and checked how the PAR levels matched with the intended coral needs. Made a last adjustment to schedule % and settled on 70%. Now we know what the PAR levels are for those 10 different spots and can make coral placement choices better.

Mine would take out LPS before they would touch aiptasia.
Woah. I’ve had them twice for aiptasia control and had good results. I wonder if berghia would be a safer bet for both aiptasia elimination and survival of the berghia
