Mine is to use my quarantine 10 gallon as a grow out tank and to start to recoup some of this end of year spending. It's been a snowball since the black Friday sales.

Good to Know! I was curious about that also. Our 65-gallon is 24" and it's a pain to get to the bottom when needed. I can only imagine if it was 30". So, I guess that make up that decision lol
I have a 110 Extra High... 48"*19"*30". It's an Angelfish tank but we did river rock for the rock scape. Sooooo hard stacking rocks that high without them falling over and then trying to get light to the bottom... @OrchidMiss has a 110EH reef tank.

Close to 300 pounds of river rock and it doesn't even make it halfway up.

24W is tough. If I were you, I'd rather make it one foot shorter then add that foot back to the width. My dream tank is 72x36x24, which is a solid 240 gallon tank.
The 30 inches out from the wall is the issue.i have to convince the wifey of.

My lobster tank was 60"*30"*15". 110 gallons.

I enjoy the taller tanks, seeing all the fish move all throughout the water column.

I'm just hoping to get better at growing corals out, really hoping to get the acros to grow finger crossed
I was feeding my tank yesterday and have always been rotating food. I did aquavitro fuel, reef chili, some coral frenzy and reef nutrition oyster feast and my acros went nuts. Craziest PE I've ever seen them do. My SBB creature Mille always has it's polyps out but it went so crazy it was touching everything on the frag rack.

Works for freshwater for sure, maybe even FOWLR tanks. Reef tanks? It can but it takes a lot of work.

Yeah, for our 65-gallon I had to get more lighting. Or I assume I did, so running the Hybrid 4 bulb T5 with two 16HD's. But I can definitely see how it can get more challenging as the tank grows.

I wouldn't recommend more than 24" in height for a tank of that size. Wider is better than taller when it comes to aquascaping, it's easier to service, plus it adds more swimming space. That extra 6" of height is just an inconvenient way to add water volume.
Strong agree. I have a 10x3x2 and anything taller in height would make maintenance sooo much harder
