I missed all the fun today... Driving down to the keys for some fishing in the morning! I may grab some live rock from down here and take it back to my tank with me would only be something I could get from shore though

Unless I hook a rock or something from the bridges lol

Anyone have a Harry Potter that's colored up yet? Just wondering if mine is getting to much light maybe?

The green crack, the green goblin, and blue avenger are all in about the same height and par I think.

I've only fished in the ocean a few times, but for some reason it's much more exciting.

I've done the party boat thing, fished from the pier, and surf fishing. I have yet to go out for the big one.
You can get a private charter. I prefer a 12 hour trip but go on 8 to 10 most of the time. Usually comes out to about 300-400 pp on the longer trip. Or you can go with people you don't know on a charter and it's the same. Difference is the captain will usually go the extra mile if it's all the same party on the boat IME.

It's in the future plans, I may be an old man by then, but I will do it at least once in my life....lol. My boys get a little older, 5 and 7 now.

What's the top pic?

The top two are the Harry Potter. I think I'll move it lower in the tank when I get back tomorrow. If it's supposed to be blue, it's not. So I'm going to assume it's getting to much light?

I really need to get a PAR meter. My mango tango is getting some nice teal on its skeleton now also

Didn't get skunked today, but only caught a bunch of little fish. But, any day fishing is better than sitting at home. Caught a couple I wish I had a bigger tank I could have put them in

I definitely agree. Grew up freshwater fishing, and just love saltwater more. Something about throwing a shrimp in, and being able to catch either a one oz fish, or a 200lb fish on the same bait. Just never knowing what you might catch is what hooks me more.

Deep sea is definitely where it's at. My boat is to little to get offshore in Jacksonville. So we just drove down here to fish the reefs from the bridges. Saw an 8ft nurse shark get caught today, it was MASSIVE.

Yeah that sums it up! Still enjoy bass fishing, catching pan fish, and catfish. But that ocean fishing is on another level.

I just ordered a seneye, I can't justify the cost of apogee. For just par measurements the seneye seems to do really well with the research I've done

Trying to go off other people's settings just isn't cutting it for me. I want to know. I've tried the phone app and while it seems close to other people's readings it's still makes me wonder.
